Just as well the pole wasn't leaning any further. Is that what's called angle parking?

Well folks, we had a fantastic time at GBL.
Thanks to all that took the chance to attend as the weather turned out to be pretty bloody good during the day, a bit cooler in the evenings but the camp fire helped the keep the smiles on the faces.
A special thank you to Peter James & Darryl McPherson for identifying the problem with our van not getting power from the solar panels. During April we had some repairs to the roof & an EPDM rubber coating applied after the roof repairs which required the solar panels removal. When they were re-connected it was done incorrectly. These fine gentlemen found the problem & corrected it. Phew!
Whilst the roof work was being done by the professionals we also had them check the Suburban hot water system as we were only getting slightly warm water inside the van. They apparently replaced the anode, 240v & 12v elements & claimed to have solved the problem. Getting the van back the day before leaving for GBL we did not have time to check... consequently still no hot water in the van.
Darryll checked the outlet under the van to the valve that mixes hot & cold water levels (forget the name of it) & found that the hose from the valve to the inside of the van was cold. Removed the valve, took it apart, found bits of plastic thread inside as well as a small mesh filter that had some gunk on it. He cleaned it all out, then replaced the valve but with negative results unfortunately.
Heading south towards Healsville, nth of Melbourne, tomorrow so will stop off at the Murray Valley Motor Homes at Strathmerton near Cobram on the way to see if they can fix it. Had some nice dealings with them a few years ago with our Winnie. Thanks again Dazza for trying.
Now, if we can just get our on board satellite dish to lock on for a change all will be fine & dandy.
Also to Keevo for putting his angle grinder to good use by cutting additional holes in the base of our flat pack fire pit to allow more airflow & a better fire.

Re: Gum Bend Lake 13 - 19th May 2015
Just got into Balranald for some supplies then trickling towards Kerang. Still beautiful warm weather with chilly nights. Stayed at the Pevensey rest area last night and as usual the visible signs that the grots had been there. Some good rest areas heading in to Balranald, one is 40 ks out (going towards Hay) has a huge parking area and good loos (if you like them) so far very clean and tidy. Reckon we should all turn around and do this all over again . Not constant coverage so I missed goodnights last night glad to see Deborah back at the helm. Safe travels. x
