Wet Season Has Arrived in NQ

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Wet Season Has Arrived in NQ

Post by Wilbor »

After a very dry previous 4-5 months, about 100mm in total, today at our place near Ingham NQ we recorded 133mm. I last mowed/slashed in September and as of yesterday it still didn't need Brutus the tractor to come out of the shed, but at the rate it has grown in the last 24 hours I will be warming up Brutus by the end of the week!!! I can almost hear it growing over the frogs :) :)

now that's what I call wet!
No wonder you need a 4WD!
I bet it's sticky & humid?
Does it flow out to sea from your area ?

Actually while it is raining it's a lovely temperature, it's just when the rain stops and the sun turns it humid :(

Today it has been about 25.

Yep, we are on a creek that flows into the Seymor River which flows into Hinchinbrook Channel

This is our swimming hole, it is over my head in the middle but the clear water makes it appear very shallow

No crocs so far. Although my dog, who loved getting in the pool for a swim, one day wouldn't come down to the creek at all and stayed up on the high bank. I was a bit wary that day of a handbag surprise :o

Always take notice of your animals body language.
Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.
