Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

It's broke off 5 threads in. I have drilled a hole through the centre of a bolt, that hopefully will allow me drill through the centre of the broken bolt. I could be lucky. There is another hole that I might have been able to use. Except the previous owner has broke a bolt in that too and then drilled it of centre. I'm tipping it isn't going to be much fun. Luckily I have a little airdrill with a 90° chuck, otherwise I'd but stuffed.

Edit. I must have had luck on my side today. I have managed to the broken bit out with no extra carnage. And still got bark on the knuckles. Now I get to do the fun stuff. And fix all the other bits that could have done better, that probably cause the bolt to break in the first place.

Maybe you can make a mounting plate that uses more than a single bolt on the block, then drill a hole for a bigger bolt in the mounting plate and weld a nut on the back of the plate. This way the whip of the belts doesn't impact the smaller bolts in the block directly, but rather spreads the load. Denning used a tension arm that had a spring in the middle to absorb the shock when the belts whipped, others added an idler pulley that was driven by the engine crankshaft pulley and a second set of belts powered the fan etc that was remote mounted. This kept the belts short and added in reducing the whip action ...

Then they discovered electric fans

I was lucky enough to drill through the busted bit and got it out with an ezi out. Limited clearance was my biggest drama. The old 90° chuck on the air drill saved the day.
I think the biggest drama is mis-alignment of pulleys. I will be checking everything as it goes back together. I think I will be putting never seize on the bolts on final assembly.
It's a two piece bracket that might need a bit of modification when I check the alignment.

" never seize "

just be careful not to get it on your skin. Otherwise, it's good stuff.

Good morning everyone. That storm almost missed us. Got a lot of rain just after dark, the second wave about 10pm dumped a heap more. I'll be back onto the Winny alternator bracket this morn. Happy hump day everybody, safe travels.
Just checked the gauge, 20mm in that lot overnight.

"tanks" here---
The sun is just shining through almost total cloud cover and the little thing outside reads 22c.
Last night was a session of Judge John Deed and then bed.
I am thinking of a return to bed 'till the sun is running full strength.

Good morning Keith!
Careful, I've been reliably told more people die in bed than elsewhere!
Anyone know if he'll have better chances while copulating?
(might need to put his teeth back in tho?)
