Problem is footpaths too LOW, need taller footpaths or longer legs (still need to be long enough to reach your bum, though😜).
Ramp prototype #1 completed and found too unstable.
Prototype #2 in progress… 🤔

We have settled on a name for Girt’s successor:
🤔 “Towed Haul” 😁

MU-X will be known as “Van Ordinaire IV”***, as it has as many seats as the people-movers of the 70s & 80s.

***
V.O. I was a Kombi;
II was a Tarago (original shape)
III was a Spacia
(When new Tarago was launched it moved up-market (read: much more $$$), so young families stayed away in droves. Toyota brought back the old body, rounded all the sharp lines, used the original Tarago seats & fittings and rebranded it as a “Spacia”.🙄)

Ray, we took delivery of the MUX in November, 2018, the bull bar with the inside already black, (we could of had an all black bull bar), the the tow bar, bonnet & window shields were all inclusive in the deal, we have a DVD player that the boys love & I noticed ours has the rails on the roof for roof racks, it was the best of the models at the time, leather seats too, as I already said we are to use Bruce's words, " extra happy with it, " we did have a brake controller fitted for towing the van.

I'm sure you'll have some great times traveling, enjoying yourselves in the new rig, looks really good.
Shirley & Bruce.

Wow, Shirley!
You’ve got the DVD screen which folds down from the roof for backseat passengers! Saw that in the showroom model when we picked up ours. Pretty spiffy!
Not sure our greyhounds would appreciate that though…😀
Ours is the LSU model, which also has the DVD player, but it has only the multi-function dashboard screen.
Manual says there’s an interlock with the handbrake to prevent watching while driving. 😜 Apparently CDs are OK while in motion. 👍
We do have the extra a/c outlet in the roof for 3rd row passengers, as there’s no opening windows back there. The girls WILL appreciate that! 🥵
Looking forward to packing the Toad & bu&&ering off for a week or two before school holidays start. 🤞
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Ramp Prototype #2 has been shelved.
During Supersparky Dave & Terrie’s visit yesterday, discussion got around to canine ingress/egress from vehicles, and after a demo of Bandit’s easy entry to the back of Van Ordinaire IV, Kelly got the idea and successfully entered (with a little guidance and encouragement)!
So today we hightailed it to Wangaratta (where pantry replenishment was scheduled anyway) and called into the local Big K shop, where we exchanged small sheets of colourful plastic for this:

Now the training begins…

Food and a tennis ball is the way to go Ray. The food treat works well with George, tennis ball not so good.

Hmmmm…
Megs is food orientated, and not interested in the tennis ball unless it’s in Kelly’s mouth. But she won’t enter a confined space (eg. car door).
Kelly is not food oriented and only interested in the ball if I’m throwing it :?
Maybe not a good idea in the van…

We’ll see what we can do. 🤞🙏

Aren't they greyhounds? Try a rabbit on a string. That should work.
