Car auctions.

Post by Riverlander »

Watched about an hour of Sydney car auctions live on the net. and was surprised that only one reached the reserve and sold. ( a mini cooper s for $30,000 ) Three very neat kombi's passed in at $17,000 to 22,000 for a very good camper. Just wondering if they have set the reserves too high or has the demand for classic cars dropped off with the cost of living going up.

Cost of living maybe? Disposable cash?

I think the share market is falling quite quick because all the banks are doing margin calls.

Agree with Jon D, there just isn't the spare $$ about at the moment. If someone sold a kombi camper for under $30,000, you would really have to wonder just how good the body is under the bog if it was a bay window model, put a 1 in front of that number if it was a split window model, the numbers go up from there as to the rarity of the unit offered .... a 23 window splittie that is genuine and all the body restoration photos came with it, telephone numbers, and you can be sure it went into a shipping container and off overseas, they have the big $$ .....
