If only he had been collecting the $ from all his cuddles...... what could have been. Ah, the wisdom of hindsight.

Re: Good morning daily
Hi all,
Fork lift pulled me out then took the 5'er into the workshop.
I left them to it, returned at 1300hrs all done and left for Kurri Kurri for dump point and camping area. Had no water this morning so had to fill up at the workshop [340L] just had a lovely shower now [ready for bed]. Laundry tomorrow in Maitland.

Good morning all.
I got excited yesterday and mowed the lawn
Had some good news from Daughter, her opp for new hip has been brought forward to this Thursday, as apposed to cancellation last time...So probably from next Sunday I will be a bachelor, Carol is going to Daughter sit
Not much else happening.. I did see a small native mouse that had been hit by a vehicle, no other animals on my walk yesterday.
Keep warm.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning 11c cloudy, going to bowls to practice for the play off tomorrow.
Bruce had the 2nd cataract & lenses surgery y'day, the eye was a little swollen & uncomfortable, so he took the pad out & just left the shield to protect the eye & laid down for a couple of hours, when he finally rose for dinner it was feeling a little better but very gritty, think the pad was rubbing on the eye, has improve overnight.

"tanks" here---Helen with the fat fingers, and the meals on wheels----
Sounds like you are enjoying life in the "bush".
I imagine a drive to Brisbane would be a long way to drive now days , besides---who wants to drive to the city when you have all of Beaudesert to drive around.

Re: Good morning daily
Another good day--
A poem to which some of us can relate
I remember the corned beef of my Childhood,
And the bread that we cut with a knife,
When the Children helped with the housework,
And the men went to work not the wife.
The cheese never needed a fridge,
And the bread was so crusty and hot,
The Children were seldom unhappy,
And the Wife was content with her lot.
I remember the milk from the bottle,
With the yummy cream on the top,
Our dinner came hot from the oven,
And not from a freezer; or shop.
The kids were a lot more contented,
They didn't need money for kicks,
Just a game with their friends in the road,
And sometimes the Saturday flicks.
I remember the shop on the corner,
Where biscuits for pennies were sold
Do you think I'm a bit too nostalgic?
Or is it....I'm just getting Old?
Bathing was done in a wash tub,
With plenty of rich foamy suds
But the ironing seemed never ending
As Mum pressed everyone's 'duds'.
I remember the slap on my backside,
And the taste of soap if I swore
Anorexia and diets weren't heard of
And we hadn't much choice what we wore.
Do you think that bruised our ego?
Or our initiative was destroyed?
We ate what was put on the table
And I think life was better enjoyed.

Re: Good morning daily
That was a trip down nostalgia lane, Keith.
I can remember all those things. My kids will remember some, if not most.
But the kids of today will never know most of those things.
