At home, I cook it in a microwave container with a tight lid. Cover rice with boiling water, neuc for a coupla minutes and then let sit, covered, until it looks cooked. When out and about in the van, I buy those little tub things of ready cooked rice and shove them into the micro for 40 seconds and they aint too bad at all.

rice to 1.5 water in the small pressure cooker -pressured for two mins -throw a towel over it for 15 until its depressurized. Same for veggies. 15 mins for meat. Easy and uses so little fuel on my coleman liquid fuel stove. 30 mins for a 2 kg of corned silverside -Cyrovac it before you leave home. Great lunch meat.

I've thought about adding a pressure cooker to the cooking array in the Mazda, but once I suggested it to Margaret I let the idea slip back out of the hole where my head was bitten off, same deal with the deep frier, but I did have a win with the 3 in one microwave/grille/convection oven with young Eddie's help.

We do rice this way.

1. Add equal parts of medium grain rice and water in a pressure cooker
ie 1 cup of each. (or swap some rice for quinoa or millet etc)
2. Bring to the boil and full pressure.
3. Then lowest heat for 5-6 minutes to keep full pressure. (ie the steam is just escaping)
4. Then turn the heat off.
5. Wait until the pressure has escaped naturally. (ie do not release) and serve.

Perfect.
