Bushfires & our place...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I offered our MH for emergency accommodation at our premises with water, power etc, via The Salvos, but not required.

Will they use those cabins that CP's have for emergency accommodation? Now there's a thought CP open their doors to the fire victims

The insurance companies usually place the people in motels or rented houses.
We still have 5 houses in Kingston that can't be lived in after the storm. The real estate chaps are having a field day renting out houses at ridiculous prices.

I see that woollies and coles are doubling any money that is donated to the fire cause through their shops. So it seems to me that the way to help double your kindness, is to donate through the big shops. At the moment all the charities are saying the best way to help is to give money and hugs to anyone near you who has been affected in any way through this horror story.

Chuck, how are you faring? Is your home still standing? are your family all ok? xxx

Not looking good for tomorrow with heat and winds. Feel for anyone involved.

Smoke in Sydney yesterday morning would choke you so can imagine what its like up in the bush fire area. Just glad to be back home and out of the way.

Chuck - hope everything stays safe for you. My neighbour's best friend lives down there, and her son and d-i-l lost their house, and 6 or 8 vintage cars in a garage! Not good. (((hugs))) Esme

Thanks all for your kind thoughts.

We are still in WA - not much point in us heading home with the rig... it would all be over by the time we got there & leaving everything here & flying back is just as silly, would be like a square peg in a round hole. No idea what to do or how to be useful at such a late stage.

Daughter, Michelle is living in the house with her to teenage kids, she has the car packed with all essentials for a quick escape if the time should come.

In the mean time we have insurance if it all turns sour.... & that time will come tomorrow - Wednesday - or Thursday at the latest.

Until then we just sit & watch the news updates, read the messages from our two girls (youngest living at Ilford, near Mudgee in NSW on 128 acres).

Must admit that each time the phone rings or we receive a txt msg the skin does crawl for a few seconds.

Stay safe & happy traveling. :D
