Your missing my point. You don't need all these app thingy's to travel just go out and do it.
Wonder If "cookie" could have found Aus if he relied on a 'app' (which incidentally wasn't lost )
Bernie.
:D here, I will use a couple for you :D :D
I got your point, I agree with you, the days aren't long gone where a fortnights trip for me involved a rifle, swag, some spuds and a can of baked beans for a treat.

Your not wrong, you don't need it.
But for the price it won't hurt you and one day, just once, you may benefit from it. In fact I would bet you a few drinks that if you try it, you will like it.

But no, you do not need it to have fun travelling in this world

I bet the first people exported out here would have loved a rifle and can of baked beans but they got by but I don't want to go back to then.
I prefer to Glamp around Australia and I use the data I have to enhance that experience.

We all have different needs as we travel, some of us want some comfort in our old age where some want to see how basic they can live.

There are still people traveling our country on bikes and walking (passed a fellow one night across the Hay plains with just a little trailer and walking, not sure if he survived the night as I know two truckies nearly got him as he had no lights and no reflective gear and was walking on the wrong side of the road.)

I very seldom use the apps during the days traveling,I may check them out if I am looking for somewhere to go but I have my secret spots I frequent that I have gained through experience and personal contacts and these are my preferred spots usually I am on my own.

I do use the GPS though, as if needed I will select three spots on my travel and then check them out as I go. If one looks inviting then I stop. I always stop at the last especially if it is past 2:00 and it is any where suitable. If traveling between spots a gravel pit or road of the side is OK.
