Yes tried Whirlpool, nothing there.
The Samsung is on productreview.com.au . Complaints they are noisy is pushing me back to the 12v.
Anybody have a Hisense, F&P or Haier and can offer feedback on noise level?

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

As mentioned previously, we have a Hisense 220l and find the fridge itself to be quiet however, I have a fan installed which draws air past the sides which have only 12mm clearance between them and the cabinetry and this creates a bit of noise but not enough to worry us. The air drawn past the sides is cool in comparison to that from the Waeco we had previously.

T1 Terry wrote:You need to compare apples with apples. Genuine lithium capacity is @ 0.5CA @ 25*C to 2.85v per cell while still under load. The Fusion mob do their discharge rate @ 0.1CA @ 25*C to 1.80v per cell. They do not show a capacity @ 0.5CA but you can be sure it would not be 200Ah and to discharge to 1.80v is virtually cell murder, so if you wanted to get the 200Ah you can only discharge at 20 amps max and damage the cells every time you do it.
The recharging graph also tells a story if you know how to read it, charge rate is held at 0.5CA (100 amps for a 200Ah battery) till the cell voltage average is approx 3.3v, then the charge rate must be limited to 0.3CA (60 amps for a 200Ah battery) and held at that till approx. 90% charged, then rapidly tapered to put the last 10% in as this is when the cell balancing commences as the cells now are over 3.6v, if the charge rate does not taper off quick enough the cells will over voltage charge and be damaged. The disclaimer line across the bottom says it all
This is the discharge chart for Winston cells
As you can see from the chart, a discharge @ 200 amps continuous (1CA) still holds 3v per cell or 12v in a 4 cell battery for the whole 200Ah delivery, at half that rate, 0.5CA more than 200Ah are delivered before the 3v line is crossed. That is the chart you would expect to see for a genuine 200Ah battery, not a capacity measured at 0.1CA, that is the specs for lead acid rubbish, not proper batteries![]()

Thanks Terrry, so forget internal BMS. I did read the Fusion BMS limits the discharge to 80 amps. Can't run a Microwave.
I will start another thread sometime on the electrical system for the Coaster.

Thanks George. Any idea of the start up amps? Hoping to use a 350w inverter (peak 700w).Newcastle George wrote:As mentioned previously, we have a Hisense 220l and find the fridge itself to be quiet however, I have a fan installed which draws air past the sides which have only 12mm clearance between them and the cabinetry and this creates a bit of noise but not enough to worry us. Anything you don't like about the fridge? Shelves, layout etc.

My clampmeter doesn't read the amps very well so can't tell you about the startup amps but I use a 1000 watt 24V PSW inverter which cost me $150 in Feb 2013. We find the interior layaout to be excellent for our purposes (4 of us) but I did remove the ice maker.

We have a hisence at 120 lt runs off a 2500 watt ps inverter, very quite, works great.
200 amph of lithium runs it plus coffee machine, induction cook top, 12 v tv, set top box
Lights, fans,

Based on the info provided on the Hisense 220l fridge label, the energy consumption is 1.073KWh/24 Hours which equates to 44.7 Ah/day at 24V or 89.4Ah/day at 12V, if my calculations are correct. Some allowance is required for the inverter draw. For the calculation of inverter draw see Here.
The Hisense 210 label shows power consumption of 100W and 170W on defrost.

That was cheap at $150. Any particular brand. Ebay?Newcastle George wrote:My clampmeter doesn't read the amps very well so can't tell you about the startup amps but I use a 1000 watt 24V PSW inverter which cost me $150 in Feb 2013. Thanks for the Redarc link. Handy info.
So about 10amps running and 17amps defrost cycle.
I'd guesstimate a startup of maybe no more than 50amps so a 500 watt PS inverter should cope. I'm keen to duplicate inverters for backup as they seem to fail more than other gear. Fridge is critical.

I thought 240w @ 240v is 1 Amp?
2400w @ 240v is 10A?
etc?
2400w @ 240v is 10A?
etc?

Ah, yes, I'm still thinking in 12 volt fridge mode. Gotta switch to 240v.
So, 100w @240v = .42amps. ?
Is that right. What is the inverter drawing from the 12v battery?
