Re: Rear Facing Camera
Had a search ,had a read, lots of info, good old Cuppa with a good camera ratio for what I'm after, but try and find one... mirror and all...
All I want is a camera that works with a replacement rear vision mirror cos my mirror is useless now as I have no rear window and all it shows is the dunny door, or me konk if I look into it...!!!
Polaris are too fancy, The Espie already had a reversing camera, and you can use this as a rear view job ,but then your map in the dash goes...
So I would like to make my useless rear view mirror useful again, nice to see who or what is up your arse ...!!! "while on the road"( beat Dot to it)
60-90 deg, wireless sound like crap, would be good if they worked ,but dont know for sure...??? mount the camera up high next to the Avida one for a decent view ... what say the clan...???
any folk done this, any recommendations...???

Re: Rear Facing Camera
Any amount of cameras available, When I purchased my 8 channel DVR from China they threw in an AHD (analog high definition) camera and the difference from a standard definition is remarkable, I would go that way if doing again.
Get a decent monitor and strap it over the redundant mirror would be what I would do, any monitor the size of a mirror will have you squinting at it, a quick glance to see what about to cream you from behind will tell you nothing on a tiny screen. 7" minimum.
I don't know if you ever pass anyone (we do, sweet spot for VP is about 104 Klicks) but a 120 deg one will be better to tell you when you are past.
Have not had any longer term success with wireless ones so now have 8 wired.
Higher mounted the better I reckon, our are at 4 mtrs.

Re: Rear Facing Camera
Hi Vik,
Waste of time the wireless ones. I have two cameras on the back, one for long distance and one for backing, just switch between the two. Same on the back of the truck, plus one either side of the 5'er.
