That was a good tip Bob, got to the rego screen, have done all that now just waiting for them to activate, hmmm, public servants on a Friday arvo, not holding out a lot of hope !
BTW, how do I know when it is activated, will it show something ?

Turn it on and flick up through the channels if it is activated you will have TV ( other than ABC ) it should be there anyway.

Check you have the correct frequency LNB, the thing on the end of the rod that points toward the dish. You don't need a signal finder if you can see your tv from the dish. If you have a Altec UEC box, Use the menu button on the sat box remote, go to "advanced", "signal detection" where you will find a signal bar. Use a cheap $2 compass from BCF and point the dish to North. While watching the signal bar on your tv, move the dish up & down, slightly left & right of North until the signal bar goes green. The bar on the screen will start to move when you get near to the satellite. Pretty easy on the east coast of Australia and a bit harder on the West Coast. We get TV everywhere we go with satellite except on rare occasions where there have been too many trees around us. I have never used a signal finder.
