Many these days seem to go for 48v feed in and an inverter that boosts that to 240vac. This gets around the need for a solar qualified electrician to do the solar install and allows for a battery interface at the inverter to provide the truly battery ready ability. The very high solar voltage is a problem when it comes to switches and fire potential so many of the better companies have moved away from this idea.

Well that makes sense I guess, so I don't know why it is done that way on this installation, I am only going on what he told me and I have been feeding him bullshit about hydro growing for the last 27 years and yet he still rings me for advice every time he has a problem. So, not the sharpest tool in the shed !
I will dig deeper.
On our system sparky has come back (higher voltage so need sparky) with less than $ 3.5 K to supply and install another 2.5Kw and upgrade to current standard which he tells me means replacing some switches, so that ties in with what you have said above.
Will be done next week after we come back from Stanthorpe on the weekend, going up for my birthday to pick up 10 doz of the 11 yo cab sav we have discovered up there, Suzy will be rattling on the way home !
Vanishing Point, almost ready to vanish
Suzuki GV more than ready to go NOW !
