I've noticed quite a few Ebay sellers now placing 2 adverts for the same item.
One is free postage & the other with freight costs. Usually works out the same price anyway.
Some people won't buy anything that costs postage!!! :o

I'd guess they have a really good deal with their courier or Aust Post up to a weight limit, and the larger battery may take them over the base price threshold.

But yep, I will question it.

Lance I have 280A/h Giant AGMs and it seems they are OK. 70+ kg each.

Just back on this for a minute chaps.............

I've got 160w on the roof but I can add an extra 100w portable when needed, is that enough s/power to maintain this Giant 140ah given a fair amount of good weather conditions ?

That depends on how much power you use Lance. Yes it will maintain it but will it replace the power you use each day is another story. How much do you use?

The mud map maths, 160w + 100w = 260w divided by 70% (because that is the best you will get when charging lead acid batteries) = 182w divided by 12v = 15 amps x 2.5 hrs for winter or 5 hrs for summer will give you how many Ah you can expect from the solar. Next, to recharge a lead acid battery requires 125% of what you take out, so at the Stone the Crows rally if you find a spot with sun all day for the solar panels you can expect 3 hrs x 15 amps 45Ah divided by 125% = 33.75Ah you can use each day and replace with the solar you have.
I know you didn't ask this question but I need the practice for my lithium battery talk at STC
The same scenario using a lithium battery, 260w divided by 80% (you can often get better than that but this figure will do) = 208w divided by 12v = 17.3 amps x 3hrs peak sun = 52Ah will return the battery to 100% but lithium does not need to get back to 100% each day so you are not restricted to the 52Ah you can use each day.

So what did you end up with Lance?

I bought the 175ah for $319.
