Peter, The rollers should probably last forever as the slide only moves about a foot or so each time in and out. Which would equate to about 3 turns. I would be more worried about the R clip falling out and the shaft getting away.
I thought about using a different grade bolt, but settled on the grade 8, because that is the same as original and at some point an engineer will have run the slide rule over it. And those early Winny slideouts flex a lot and I figured it was better to snap a bolt, which I can repair simply now, as I know how to do it, rather than do mechanical damage which may not be a simple fix.
I have spoken to a lot of Alpine and Longreach owners and they all have a particular issue with either of the slide-outs. I hope that they have fixed it with the latest models, as the manufacturer should have had enough practice by now.
Copy and paste of how they do it in the States in not always best practice for Oz, IMHO.
Cheers
David

My slideout I built in the back of the Oka runs on Occo track from Ovesco, no motor it just rolls out and rolls back in, I just have over centre latches to lock it in either position. It has survived for over nine years now on 4wd trips across most of Australia including remote deserts and all through the VHC so my backyard design has worked well. It carry's the full size double sided queen size bed along with two tubbies and is cantilevered out a metre when in either fully in or fully out, ie it goes in and out a metre.
