Further to the invertor fridge discussion.
My recently defrosted fridge , when set at low is starting to freeze things in the fridge as low as near crisper.
Does this indicate end of life.
Doin some research I see some inverter style fridge around 239 litres that will fit in the hole are an affordable $399.
I saw one on Kogan that claims
Current 0.7A
Energy Consumption 410kWh per year
Energy Star Rating 2.0
Rated Power 90W | Defrost: 160W | Lamp: 2W
Voltage 220~240V/50Hz
Is this realistic to run off an inverter.
12Volt versions are unrealistically pricey.
Thoughts Please

Re: 227 Samsung fridge
Kappy, first off, it may just be a dodgy thermostat. Do you know how old it is? Reading back through the thread it looks like you had a bit of drama with the thermostat earlier on.
I have some wireless thermometers in the fridge and freezer that allow me to monitor the temps inside without opening the door to check.
We have a 3 way that I am yet to field test to see if the mods I recently made to the install would have any effect. If the answer is no, then I will be changing to a domestic style 240v inverter type fridge. I would propose to run that off the house inverter already fitted.
The fridge you describe should run OK from any full sine wave inverter. One thing you might need to check is which way the door hinges from. Not all of them are possible to hinge from either side.

Re: 227 Samsung fridge
Thanks David.
When the fridge wouldn't start, I discovered I had disconnected the wire to the thermo, while defrosting.
The fridge is at least 8 years old.
Think I will try a new thermostat @ around $100 , can't hurt.

Almost too embarrassed to share this.
So who's a putz
Not sure whether its a seniors moment or a dyslexic bout.
Double checked the thermostat and where I was thinking I was turning down was ass about.
Now running @ 4C.
