When an explosion put Victoria’s gas offline for a few weeks, (‘98 I think) we had our very new 2nd hand m/h parked in the driveway adjacent to the front door.
We just moved all kitchen & ablutions activities into it.
We even had hot showers with the water connected!
Our house kitchen featured all-gas cooking (well, with the exception of the microwave), so a lack of gas put a serious crimp in activities. For convenience the entire contents of the fridge were moved into the m/h.
We’ve done similar in our current all-electric house when we have long blackouts.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

We are very fortunate in that we have had just one blackout, for an hour or two, in the 29 years we have lived here. We have had a couple of low voltage incidents which required resetting of the oven's clock.

If I have a blackout it means I tried to use the coffee machine and the hot water heater at the same time. Ţurn one off then press the T1 red button all is OK. Many people would not know how to conserve power.
