We have the same problem with the girls.
If it’s raining when they have to go out for a ‘comfort break’ they stand under the veranda and just stare.
Then they turn and give us a dirty look before heading back to the door & waiting for us to open it.
Used to have the same problem with the Beagle: he would back up to the edge of the paving, do his business then bolt for the door. Paddy the Labrador couldn’t care less — Labs are water dogs. He loved the rain, and being hosed on warm days, something Beagle hated.
Have not yet tried hosing the girls, although Kelly liked flopping down in puddles when we had sprinklers running last summer.
