Agree Deborah, I commented to Bruce, " are we getting old or is this the coldest Winter for years," I actually washed four jackets/coats that we haven't needed for a long time, sure has been cold for the Coast.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
We’re out of wood and our normal supplier has retired to go on the road. Good luck to him.
First bloke I called wanted $220/cu.m.
Plus delivery $40!! But won’t stack it in the garage… just tip it onto our driveway.

Finally got a local bloke who will deliver AND stack it for $200… next week.
Have not needed to buy firewood for two years, took down a few dead Eucalypts, and neighbour donated a fair stack last year. (Tidying up — dismantled a 20yo ‘art installation’ consisting of logs stacked in a frame.)
Prices have risen a bit…
ps. Overnight temperature here has been 0.something or minus figures for the past week…
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Smoke alarms went of this morning and could smell something burning. Not the smell of a normal fire but more electrical, shut down airconditioner and pulled the air return vent down. Smell coming through the ducting and sure enough the aircon had burnt out. Suppose after 20 years it has done well but hell it was cold today. At the moment wrapped in a sleeping bag and near ready for bed.
Small electric heater on in bedroom to take the chill of the air and electric blankets on. Have started contacting for quotes so the home loan is going to get hit again. Good night all and sleep well cheers Robert

Dot, those boys on bikes or the bouncy ball over a net mob? xxxx
Ray the price of wood seems crazy. You're going to have to start a collection of found wood, that you scrounge from beside the roads etc.
Robert, losing your air conditioner at this time of year would be horrible. Hope you can find a speedy replacement and have it installed asap.
Everything went crazy here today.
Started off with a bank number generating token that wouldn't activate. Spent an hour and half talking to lovely lady at the bank, and she had some fancy pants boffins try to help her get it working but no such luck. So have to wait for the computer nerds to ring us on Monday.
Next up was the dashcam. Firstly the manual, like all things had to be printed from a random webpage. Started printing off the 59 pages and realised that I had asked for a coloured booklet, but all the pages were printed in pale greeny blue writing. I then asked for only black n white and the writing is still greeny blue. Back to computer settings and read up about the printer. Did a full on, print head cleaner, and bingo, fixed it. We now have a black n white manual to go to the car with, and start to set up the dashcam. The screen is black, nothing, zilch, nada and still the screen is black. After a bit more fiddling, we rang son. Try using the multimeter and check the cigarette socket. Nothing happened. Check the fuses. As usual, son was right. Replaced a microscopic fuse and we now have a screen. These fuses are smaller than my thumb nail. How the heck fat fingered mechanics can access them is beyond us. ON the screen we did the first things and then it told us that the sd card needed to be formatted. We had bought a heavy duty , 132 gig card that the man in the shop said was right for the dashcam that he had sold us. After failing to get the card formatted, we put the 16gig card that came with it, in the slot and another bingo moment. All is well.
After all that frustration, I went to the kiln and found the glass had again split into two separate pieces. Hammer was good. The glass is getting another warm up tonight.
Just something for you to think about night all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
BOB's are going well , even the Jayco team Luke Durbridge is looking good as well tonight. Wood here is over $450 t so you in Vic have O to complain about, that is why it is cheaper to put the new air con on. Robert why don't you go out into your van? easier to keep warm. . Holden did well today
Off to bed to watch the end of the race 15ks to go so Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Noggins x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Good day today sports wise, Bombers won, Holden won, and the washing got all done and put away. Just hoping the tennis brat doesn't win tonight, I am embarrassed to say he is Australian and another thing is I loathe spitters. They have a rest day tomorrow. Isn't the Swiss countryside beautiful? Got some Hoya cuttings to pot up tomorrow they have a good root system now.Hope you had better luck with your latest art work Deborah, better start your Xmas trees as xmas is looming
Shed erection looking good Bernie. Bed time so goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Bobr x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, I can expect you won't be wasting your night watching the tennis then.
Keep warm down there mate xxxx
We had over an inch or rain last night. It was dropping so noisily, that we couldn't get to sleep. As dawn hit and it started to get quiet, we slept. I stayed that way until 11am, a weird way to start the day.
The kiln event was a non event. I just am not liking this one. So it is now warming up the bench, while I think about it. I put in some more cut up bits to try again tonight. As these are bits of stained glass, I am sort of fiddling and experimenting with them The final outcome is not really going to cause me much stress either way.
Another thought for the day, sorry ot's a bit yankee, but the sentiment is still the same. night all xxx
