Re: Starlink & Satellites
Maybe, Bernie, you had lots of good luck?
A bloke helping with the tyre, only a short break with the starter. Who knows what was up the road that was avoided by these?

Re: StarShip attempt 9
Some of you may remember the failed attempt of StarShip launches 7 & 8 where the first stage was successful & returned but the second stage damatically exploded.
After a lot of test firing & many things altered, the Launch 9 is now scheduled.
This StarShip is many, many times bigger than all the many launches that are now a regular thing. Sometimes twice a day.
SpaceX is targeting NET May 21 for Starship Flight 9. The launch window opens from 6:30 pm and 8:34 pm local time, possibly making Flight 9 the first ever Starship night launch.

Re: Starlink & Satellites
I'll going to have to get up real early, soon, again, one early morning, and see if i can see a bigger, longer starlink train. It's a pretty impressive thing to see, even it is just for a few fleeting moments.
Cheers

Re: Starlink & Satellites
Dave, simple really. Wait till your hear the train horn and the run out side.
I do that when the helicopters fly over. A tip though. Sometimes they are not where the noise is. Esp with planes.

Re: Starlink & Satellites
Jon, I'm not convinced that waiting for the horn to sound is the right answer.

Re: Starlink & Satellites
After the NOTAMs and NOTMARs are updated to Starship NET on May 27, we are eight days from Starship Flight 9.
Maybe?

Re: Starlink & Satellites
It's going to make for some great early morning video, when they get that train up and running. I've only seen one early morning train of maybe 5 or 6 satellites. That's impressive enough.
Cheers

Re: Starlink & Satellites
I dunno why anybody would hope for a mission failure. At the end of the day, the end-user is the one that will pay for that.
We, the end-user would/should only hope for success in those ventures, so the price of things doesn't have to go sky high, just the satellite.
Cheers
