I think I'll call today a lost cause, cause, no doubt, if I go for a nap, the sun will come out

 Seems the weather gods read this forum, I went out expecting to get rained on immediately, a few drops and then the sun came out to increase the humidity, just to make being wet feel all the more enjoyable .... but I got the air cleaner bracket out, the trans cooler out, the battery out and the AC condenser unbolted ...... but it doesn't appear as though it can be removed without disconnecting the gas ..... time to look for a local automotive AC person to degas the system and regas it when I get it back together ......

It's that bloody Nigel. Maybe get Jon to ask him to back off a bit with the ordinary weather.
Good luck with the repair.

Good morning.
You didn't souvenir a brick from the bottom of that building in Rome Dave...😁
The most activity I got up to yesterday..was to get a lettuce leaf and chilli from the veggie patch for the salad bun I made for lunch, the tomatoes aren't ready yet 😀...so not a lot to talk about..
We had another storm go through around 8 pm last night only got 3mm but it sounded more...we have a tin roof 😜.. the storm passed under us and we only got the edge of it..
I don't have anything pressing to engage in today..
I'm guessing someone may give me instructions on something later today 😡
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Seems Jon's mate Nigel is making life tough for those with a tin as well ......

Still trying to find someone to degas the air con, looking at the US images where they removed the motor, it appears they must have removed the AC condenser as well ..... I bet that is gunna cost me to regas

Bugga, they weren't mentioned as AC service agents, but tyre mob were, so I rang them and they were going to ring Shane's Mobile repairs as they send any non drive in work to him ...... I would have much preferred to use Gears and Cogs, they have helped me out before .....

Terry, when you put it all back together, get a new dryer installed before you get it regassed. Saves a lot of grief, according to the guy that did ours after I replaced the compressor.

I'm tossing up whether to reinstall the AC and if I should switch the a HC refrigerant because it's more efficient ..... I'm guessing I'll have to change the oil as well ..... but I have no idea if it's using R134a or still using R12 ..... R12 and the HC refrigerants are compatable, but naturally, the US manufacturer R134a isn't, can't have people simply buying a can of propane or butane and regasing their own AC system

After waiting 2 days for the tyre mob to get back to me regarding degasing the AC, Colin from Gears and Cogs came up within the hr and did the job for me, top people .....

So, now the AC condenser is out and the radiator is out, no idea how I'd get the spanner in there to undo the hydrostatic fan hub, so I'll have to figure how to remove the pulley so I can get to the water pump bolts and take the whole lot out as a unit.

Might investigate replacing the hydrostatic fan with an electric thermofan so I can do away with the fan shroud as well to make any sort of work up the front of the engine possible without needing to remove all the front again .....

Taggerty is just around the corner. So is the council, xmas and other delays.
