Dot, you been doing too much today? xxxx
Ge Shirley, you really missed a beauty of a storm. The rain was so heavy at times that we couldn't see the end of our jetty and it continued for much of the night. Glad you got your game of bowls in today. We have had some pretty heavy rain again tonight, but no sound and light show this time, so no black out.
After the blackout last ight, I did get cranky about the solar battery. I found all of my details and gave the company a ring. Apparently, our file has been left on a person's desk and she has moved to another job in the company. Interestingly, she was the person who returned our call later in the day. LG are not going to try to stop a refund of all the money that we paid and it has now been put on the urgent stack, because I told them about it being storm season and our blackout. The was just one phone call. If I don't hear much back soon, I think it will have to go to the dept of fair trading. It has just taken way too long. It all started back in May, obviously I am fed up.

What car do you want to turn it off on Dot? The Suzuki or the Hyundai that AJ bought?
Cheers

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Found the answer on Google thanks Bruce and the answer is Yes you can. I think it is a dangerous addition. Went for a drive today and yes hit the op shop. George got 3 scabby little animal toys to stick onto a bird bath, he was charged $2
no way buddy boy, I got mine for 20cents each so back in I went, the female dog said they sometimes change the prices but I just glared at her. NO refunds = another glare as we were not even off the property I scraped 60 cents from my bag depths handed it to her and asked for the $2 back. OK that sounds scabby of me but hey not the way to treat people at all. Got the wheels rotated on the Kia, came home and rang NZ. WTF Sues GP said she could not see the cardiologist we want as she is out of his region???Hello stupid man the hosp she went to and had all her tests in is where the Dr works. Sue was so distraught so off went an email to the cardio guy saying what the GP has said. Hornets nest about to explode with what I put in it. Sue is in R) sided heart failure and that is drop dead an urgent case. That country's health care is at the bottom of a 4th world, it used to be the best. Junkies and piss pots fighting getting all the treatments. (bit like here) Anyway time for bed so Goodnight everyone x

Good luck with your hornets nest Dot. NZ sounds like the last place on earth that you would want to be seriously ill in. GP should be struck off for being so ridiculous. xxxx
New washing machine was delivered today. Guy installed it, did a trial run and then removed the old machine and took it in for scrap. That was a good start to the day.
Then the sh**t hit the fan. His Nibs went next door to do some odd jobs and came back fairly quickly. Somehow, the new carpet has some very deep wet patches in front of the bathroom doors. Turned out that yesterday, he was using the tank water to pressure spray the south facing walls. Someone had turned the tap over the washing machine that is for tank use and not fully closed it again. The tap had been slowly dripping all day and night, so not a great event. We have the house fully airing with a fan heater on during the day, when we are happy to keep an eye on it. All the spare towels have been used to get as much excess water up, but it may take a few days to get it thoroughly dry. Lucky the tenant won't be returning for another couple of weeks.
Obviously something there about washing machines and their taps, so it seems like a big downer of a day.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Must be the time for house floodings, Aj 's washing machine's out pipe got so excited it jumped out of the trough and flooded the place out while she was outside. Then her hot water cylinder has conked out and one shelf of her new fridge freezer also pooped itself, then she was putting on the clean sheets and noticed a bird had pooped on them
Told her it was good luck. She came around for a hot shower, then went home to bed. G finished getting the crap stuff odd the front and side gardens now to get hold of the garden man. We had 27degs today and a lovely cool breeze. Starting to get the bus all sorted ready for out trip to my sisters place for Xmas (in Victoria) I haven't seen her since 2016 so it should be interesting. Nothing much happening this week. Probably helping around at AJ's Take care everyone if travelling and all sickies hope you are all improving. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Hope AJ's run of shitty luck is over. Funny how things seem to all go wrong when moving into a new home. You sort her out Dot. xxxx
We finally did a hammer shop run and I found the castors for the kiln trolley. I went through a junk shop in the hope of getting some stocking fillers for the kids. I found a few things, but not really what I think I am after. So more shopping next week, maybe. After a quick lunch, his nibs declared that he would build my kiln the wheeled stand. I thought the job would be mine, anyway he did it to my specs and now my kiln is at a much lower height and back on the stand it came with, but on a trolley to move it around. I finally could get the lid open all the way and have really good look around.
This is the first kiln that I have bought, that was specifically built for firing glass, elements are in the lid and not along the sides as my previous ones have. My surprise was that the shelf or bottom of the kiln seem to have never been kiln washed. Previous owner must have been rich. Alternative to painting the shelves is to use a new sheet of firing paper every time that glass is fired within. That stuff is not cheap. Anyway, the floor and sides of the kiln have now been painted with wash and the shelf is already on it's way. It needs to have at least 5 coats and be totally dry between coats. It was a very humid today, so the shelf only has two coats so far. The kiln will get at least one more thick coat on the floor and up the sides. That's just an insurance policy to save it from molten glass destroying it.

Try putting it into the kiln to dry out between coats.
