Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Not too hot for you Dot? xxxx

Ray, love your madness mate. The shelf is so heavy that every time I move it to or from the kiln, I think it is at risk of being dropped. I will try to get some more lighter shelves soon. Two more coats of wash today on the shelf and one more inside the kiln. They need to be slowly dried or the wash just buckles up and gets messy blister holes in it. Patience is a virtue ...you can fill in the rest.

Finally had the stitches out today from last weeks biopsies. All clear and no further treatment needed. That was good news.

Not looking forward to the suggested heatwave that should be here soon. The warnings are all over social media. Hang on, it's summer and we need to be warned that the weather we are expecting is appropriate for summer? Crazy world.

night all xxx

Was a warm day alright? not used to it so I stayed inside. Spoke to NZ M8 today, she is sick of their weather rain rain and rain with just enough of a break for the sun to come out and steam thigs up and it's like a sauna then, She actually did ring the heart surgeons rooms and explained a few things but the person she spoke to was a womble and got things mixed up so I rang them and explained a few things and asked the nice lady who knew what I was speaking of and she said she would ring Sue, and she did :D Now Sue seems more confident she will get somewhere soon. I know she will ;) She also emailed her GP asking again for a referral and she now has proof she has been asking him to do that for some weeks now. ( I see a kickback if he only refs people to certain Dr's) it does happen. AJ came for a shower and she told us she has now rented some business rooms right in the city for her clients on the other sides of the city. G has to get her a water pump as the water tanks are on gravity feed  plus he has about 20 or so pot plants to bring home. Noticed one of my Hoya's is starting to flower woo hoo at last. Had a detailed search of the fruit trees, not one cherry, a few plumbs, a few peaches and same with the apples. Raspberries 1 crop is doing ok but the boysenberries are not showing and by now they should be ready a Xmas. What am I doing wrong, even the peas have flunked. Off to the shower now so Take care everyone, Goodnight one and all x :D Goodnight WayneP x :D

Because I was up early this morning Brian was off outside like a flash into his Pussy Palace tunnel where he knows we can't reach him, so I said to G just leave him there for a while. We were going to the vet How the hell do they know??? Anyway he was fooled and he came back in side where I had got his crate out all ready for him  Into the consult room and he was aok. had his worming pill ears poked swab taken "I hope you are not charging me for that again I asked ($40) the vet gave me the look of sshhhhh and continued the exam , his weight 5.3kg, temp normal but he has a wheeze on the L) lung so pills for that, Brians troubles are a result of him having the cat flu when he was a baby and that also developed into herpes virus. Cost for the meds was $42 consult NIL. Should of been $195.00 but his insurance covered the rest. See vet again in a month for check up . G went around to AJ's to ick up the 4 pots of bamboo, one was $200 4 years ago (not the spreading stuff either) :D Then he got a ph call from dentist offering him a cancelled appointment so off to Mt Barker he went for a filling. Picked some more ripe raspberries and they are now in the freezer, No signs of boysenberries yet. AJ woes continue lol: the hillbillies that rened the house had knocked the NBN line to the pole so now a cherry picker has to come to fix it then when she got home the stupid plumber had drilled 2 holes in the hand basin for the taps where she had given then the tap and spout to them requiring 1 hole  NEXT  Going to be 36deg this week before rain on the weekend or so they say. Bed time so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Pet-els x :D

Dot, you are killing your plants with too much kindness. Give them a drink when it's really hot and nothing else for a while. Poor AJ sounds like she is living through a comedy movie. Which one of the three stooges is her plumber related to? xxxx

I have been off having a few lots of testings. I have been given the all clear for them, so it looks like the total tiredness is just long covid and time should cure it. With a huge family history of heart disease, GP sent me off for a CT scan. It came back good, but the rest is ridiculous. I had to pay $600 for the scan and nothing will come back from health fund or medicare. If a specialist had written the referral, the cost would have been $730 and all I would have to pay was $130. Living here, the wait to see a specialist would be a minimum of three months and the out of pocket would be around $500. No win situation. I don't see why the cost for a GP referral to CT should be non refundable. So much for how good medicare is. The xray place had it's money machines out of order. Luckily, I had some cash from a machine to pay some tradies next week, so I surprised them by paying the whole $600 in cash. Who says cash isn't king?

The kiln saga is finally over. The many coats of dried on kiln wash look pretty good and ready to get to work. Today I loaded the kiln up with four small beer bottles (empty and clean) to see how the kiln fares. By positioning them in different corners, I will be able to see if the kiln has any hot spots. I have checked on the kiln a few times today to see where it is up to in the cycles. So far, it has done everything the way it should. I have left it now to finish firing over night and will see in the morning, what the answers are to my thoughts.

But wait there is more for the AJ saga: lol: She went to sort some more out with her new rooms and the agent had cocked up, she can't get into them now for another 2 weeks because the agent had not sent off all the paperwork to the building owner so that means she still has to do home visits. I'm getting a session tomorrow and boy do I need it. G gave the bus roof a good wash ready for the next coat of the thermal paint if the weather is ok. Out did myself this arvo, made a couple of dozen sausage rolls for the freezer. I had 2 for tea couldn't taste them but G said they were good. Just had a little nap in the chair so I had better get to bed before G comes looking for me so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Riverlander x :D Glad your tests game back OK Deborah just keep vigilant and look after yourself. I have only paid a gap to 2 specialists all scans , X/rays all free, GP bulk bills.

Deborah, i think you are getting ripped off. My GP will only refer me to places that bulk bill. I've had a couple of CT's in the past couple of months. Out of pocket ,zero.
Cheers

Hi. The day up here was quite OK and not like they forecast it at 42deg. Did not make 37 and was overcast all day and only a bit windy as the change came through. I think they like to make it sound bad to push the climate change bit. Apart from the odd hot day it has been a cool summer so far with a couple of rain events that the lawns loved.
Goodnight all. Cheers John

Dot, stay sane mate. Sounds like AJ has some very shifty real estate people doing her stuff. Make a point of keeping their names on a list to remind you to never use them. xxxx

Dot and David, I have heard about having medical stuff done for just medicare rates. Does not happen here. We have such a small number of medical places that even to book the scans, I had a four week wait, and they know that the prices are whatever they can charge. Apparently brain and heart scans are only medicare bookable, only if a specialist orders them. There are times when I wish we still lived nearer to the city for medical things, but the lake draws me back home every time. It's just the price that we pay for being "remote". They considered us as part of Sydney during covid, but in reality, we are a tiny community that's a minimum of 90 minutes drive to the edges of the big smoke.

Today we did a local walk, to deliver invites to our annual Christmas party. All 45 invites were delivered and most will come to the local park for next Sunday and have some time to be a small community , meet some new neighbours and remind us of who really does live in number 10. I haven't done this for the last three years (covid and life got in the way), but I really think it's time that we get on with being a caring neighbourhood.

After that walk around, we went to do the grocery shopping. That was a really crowded experience. I had to get some ingredients for the annual crunchy biscuit making. The stack of ingredients is now all ready, but I am waiting for the weather to be a little bit friendlier so that the ovens can run all day.

The kiln work went really well. The bottles are almost as flat as when done in the other kiln. So that tells me that the new kiln runs a bit cooler and schedules will need to be a bit higher temps in the newer kiln. I write a different schedule for most firings, because they are all different objectives for different sized objects etc. So only a bit more brain work and maths needed for a while until I am happy with the schedules that I work out. Not in a rush to do any hot work at the moment!

Deborah the real estate people are only do business's, so we are safe. Lots of thunder this evening with a bit of rain but guess the big lot will be here soon. I was very slow to awaken today, G woke me 3 times but as soon as he went out the door I was gone again. Might head off to check on Mum & Dad tomorrow they may need weeding so might take the weed killer. Take care on the roads if travelling and all us old and sick ones take things easy. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Macca x :D
