Deborah, in light of the outages that we have had, and in a lot of our area are still having, it pays to have access to a decent genset. I realise that is why you got the big battery in the first place.
I saw some smarties on fbk slagging off Tesla's etc, until a Tesla owner came on and said his car was powering his house.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, enjoy that gravel pit mate xxxx
David, I wonder how long a tesla could really power up a house????
Had a bit of a clean up day and found some space in a spare bedroom. I had a very old traymobile that was just filling up floorspace. Put a pic and offered for free on our town f**kbook page and it was gone in fifteen minutes. Now I can almost use the room as a bedroom.
Spent some time in my shed. The kiln is back up firing the bits that I flattened last night, over a holey mold again, to make a sculpture. It may be the last firing, or not. Not in a rush and as it is for my home, it will have to be perfect. When I am happy with it, you will get your pics.

We are just out of a little place named Scarsdale in a rest area named Woady Yaloak Creek RA. Doesn't look very used so ok with us, Reception is not good but satellite is doing ok. Gee Ballarat is huge now. Did 2 loads of washing and both had showers, lovely to be in the towns. Brian has not been out of the bus since we left home so tomorrow I will take him for a walk to get some fresh air with no snapping yapping dogs to be bothered by. Rabbits everywhere in Melton, tried to catch some but they ran too fast for me, Take care everyone and goodnight x

Stay safe in your holiday bus Dot xxxx
As promised. I am now happy with the progress of the sculpture. When I first made it, I was happy but one of the legs was a bit thin and it snapped off, so it had to go back to shed for modifications. After many firings, I am happy that the legs are now much thicker and sturdier and I have brought it upstairs to go on display in t he house (as planned). This is some of the leg parts going through a flattening time in the kiln. kiln set up and glass ready for firing out of kiln I know it looks quite black-ish but it is really very deep red. Possibly iphone or the operator.
Take care on the roads and watch for the morons and eejits, they seem to breed every year.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah can you use that artwork as a flower vase? Bet the red looks beautiful, We drove the worst road in Australia today, the Highway Glenelg to Hamilton B160, full of gaping pot holes but full of water from the storm. Currently parked up at Heywood near the footy oval 48hr stop, dump point and very near IGA. We are on out way to see Big Steve aka Ozfueler he has given up his big MH due to health reasons and has a lovely spot at Nelson (overlooking the water) Had to visit an op shop at Skipton this arvo as for some reason I didn't pack enough light clothing not a bad shop, all clothing was $1 and all of it has been washed and is now in the wardrobe. Brian has been a good boy, after being cooped in the bus for over a week he went for a walk this morning where he had a pee and some fresh air. I am very tired so am saying goodnight early tonight. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Yes Dot, that sculpture can be used as a vase and also can hold pens in the holes. I have one on the dining room table as a pen tidy, it works well. Have fun in those op shops, must be a drag forcing yourself to go there

Had a weird day here in paradise. It was flamin hot, n humid, especially when I was cleaning off all the kiln wash off the big shelf. I think I may have stuffed up his sander, it wasn't happy in the heat. When the shelf was finally clear, I gave it the usual 7 coats of kiln wash, drying between coats and now it's back in the kiln doing what It's meant to do. Another lot of blobs getting flattened.
I managed to fill the green waste bin with weeds and truly, there is a lot of weeding still to be done. gggrrr
I was just about to have some quiet time when a neighbour knocked on the door to invite me over for a cuppa. It was lovely to get out of the house for a while. They are very different. She lives in Sydney most of the year, but her hubby works up here. He often stays in the house next door and we really never know if he is home or not. best sort of neighbours, for most of the year.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
How is Brian going in the heat Dot? xxxx
I'm baaack.
Another stinkin hot humid day.
Most of the morning was spent answering an email about the solar battery. I answered as many questions as I could and sent them to ask the installer for a few answers as well. As soon as I pressed send, I received an answer to say "not in office until next week". PITA Definitely will never again buy anything with an LG brand on it. I assume that yesterday's email was sent on auto pilot, ie junk mail from LG.
Had a bit of time in my shed. Took out the big blob and cleaned it up. As it was half an inch thick, it is back in tonight, at the same high heat with out a mould holding it in shape. I hope that it will thin down and spread out a fair bit. Tomorrow will tell.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Found any good op shops yet Dot? xxxx
Had a couple of super slow days, weather is either rainy, hooomid or stinking hot, take your pick. We did venture to the hammer shop to by me a new sander (to share with him, I suppose). That's down in the shed. I did open up the kiln and had a look see. The glass is now stretched to be huge and it's putting me off a bit. Possibly will turn it into a tray, if it's not too heavy. Will try to be calm tomorrow and see what the possibilities for it's use will be.
Night before last, we had a red dragon fruit flower open. These flowers are spectacular, only last one night and open to be the size of a large dinner plate. Sadly, once the fruit forms, it takes three months to be ready to eat. Tonight another one opened up. I am looking forward to the eating of red drippy dragonfruit.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah the best op shop this time was at Skipton, $1 for clothes. The rest have been the well-known ones, and their prices are dearer than K Mart. The weather today (this arvo) has been nasty, thunder, lightning and torrential rain. Had to dash to the bus and got soaked in less that10 mts. Will try to head off tomorrow but who knows, the weather may change our minds. Good news about Ray isn't it? Goodnight everyone, x
