Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot, the brown is a result of all the main colours mingling together. Perfectly normal reactions, just was hoping that it didn't always work for glass. The tray still is very different, and I am happy with it. Enjoy your BOBS mate xxxx

Shirley, you are so right. The roads are totally clogged and the lake is so quiet. Not even a kayak was seen here for most of the day. Thanks for noticing my f**kbook page and letting me know that it worked. I try to advertise, but the whole things can be very complicated. The f**kbook thing seems to work differenlty every time that I need to put up an ad. Oh and no, my kiln doesn't grow very tasty pumpkins! Since getting the bigger kiln, I have made quite a few weird n whacky experiments. Keeps me off the streets

Another shopping day with sis. She doesn't have as many shops near her home, so we did quite a bit of driving around the lake to find different shops. I seemed to be the one buying, she didn't find any of the things that she wanted to buy today.

Will pay our son a visit tomorrow (as he will be across the lake on an errand) to deliver their family Easter rabbits and then do a few things around the yard. We will be home for some of each week in April, but most weekends, we will be out of the area. It may become a little bit hectic for a while, but if all goes well with these crazy mystic people crystal fairs, we may not really miss the selling from Lightning Ridge. The profits would not be happening at the Ridge for us this year, but we will miss seeing a lot of people, who have become good, once a year friends.

Sweet dreams xxx

Had visit from RnB and Molly today and they bought the possum trap in exchange I baked some hot crossed buns from the freezer or should I say I defrosted some hot crossed buns  G did a bit of shopping yesterday from Wooli--, he got 2 brands I don't use so I asked him to take them back. Girl at check out said "No we don't refund items" so he comes back with them. Hackles up and on the ph asked for duty manager, spoke to him (Anthony) and he said "Yes we do refund with receipt, so bring items back and ask for Anthony" So off G goes again and asks the same girl this time at the info counter for Anthony, she asks why so he tells her and she all of a sudden says "oh I can do this for you" So she does the refund without another word. WT? anyway all done. Funny what some little people think they can tell you. Great race last night and might be a bit better tonight. Lawn mowed all ready for the rain that was supposed to be here yesterday :D Sounds like you had fun shopping Deborah  But Shirly sounds like she had a great time with the GK's. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Paramount cruiser x :D

Dot, you are so right about some people who think they are one step ahead of us....fat chance. With age, can come pain and great wisdom. xxxx

Today was a quick drive across the other side of the lake to see our son and dil. They had finished clearing out most of her mother's house, so we were able to do a few small things with them.
Next was to visit a glass studio open house event. I know the lady, she live close to us then and she actually came and helped me when I first got into glass work. Anyway, she has become a little pretentious. her works are huge and so are her pricetags. Her kiln is about 4 times bigger than mine, so she does things bigger and way dearer than mine. I was surprised to see that she is doing a lot of designs like I have been experimenting with. I left there feeling ok about my work and the knowledge that I don't have charge people ridiculous money for doing something that brings me so much joy.

Came home, put another repaired piece back in the kiln for a rebuild and then managed a bit of weeding and pruning of the mango tree.
Not a wasted day at all.

nighty night xxx

I had a very wasted day indeed, got up late, put a load of washing on, hung it out, went for a stroll around the yard, wrote a shopping list out then did a couple of puzzles and sorted a few clothes for the op shop (too small). The trap is set. Thank goodness G won't be here for tomorrow night IF the cat visits as he will just let it out and telling it not to come back  I will give it a few hrs in the crate, give it a good hosing and then let it go. We had a bit of gentle rain today but nothing to boast about. Sue in NZ has finally had some of the heart tests done had the stress test today, now we wait for more tests and results. G made lists of stuff in the freezers today, time to do a big sort out. :D Getting a quote for that resurfacing for the bathrooms and kitchen soon, the people that spray / resurface everything, cheaper and faster than re tiling etc Has anyone had anything to do with this stuff? Keep on kilning Deborah and bowling Shirley. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Chuck :D x

Sorry, can't help with respraying bath tubs etc Dot. Seems like it has been around for many years, so as long as you find the right contractor, it should be a good product with a good outcome. Happy researching xxxx

I looked in the basket of mangoes and realised that they needed to be cooked asap, before they turned to mush. Twenty lovely over ripe mangoes have now been turned into jam. Lovely orangey colour, but I have no idea how the stuff will taste. The house has smelt like burning sugar all day, so I have not really been able to get the true taste at all.

Next ,was to collect up all the earrings that have been made recently and work out ways of displaying them. Took a while but job done.

His lordship decided to empty the business out of the car, so he also took out all of the containers of "scrap" glass. Most of the pieces look way too big to be scrap. Anyway, I didn't really have time to play, but it is causing an itch to get back to the shed.

Doc visit tomorrow, so the list of scripts needed etc had to be compiled. All sorted. A few bills have been paid and Lightning Ridge Holiday park booking has been cancelled. That was a really hard one. They are such a lovely couple and they rely on our business as much as the tourists. I really will miss all the friendships from that part of our world.
What a long day of doing so many small things, but all worth while
night all xxx

Signing off early tonight, up early to take the G man to Stirling hosp for 8am. Dropped him off and did a bit of shopping at Aldi but had to wait 10minutes for them to open at 0830. Me waiting for a shop to open  Home to do some jobs, now I have to put the possum dinner in her box, set the trap for the cat, put the rubbish bin out, fold and put washing away, feed Brian, lock up, have something to eat ?? custard, can't choke on that. Brian got a ph call from the office manager this arvo, she tried the BS you said, I said stuff but I told her I had the email from one of the vets plus the text saying they were still waiting for the special cat dentist to reply shut her up very quickly and esp when I told her we already had 3 diagnoses from 3 specialists concerning teeth and of course x/rays. of course, she asked me what their diagnosis was and who were these people so I replied she would have have a consult with them and pay a fee. Also told her at the next staff meeting to suggest the staff to think more about the feelings and distress of the owners rather than dismiss them. Should get a ph call tomorrow .... Gman rang to say he had been done about 1pm and he had a raspy throat. he had the holes in the belly way so pleased with that and if ok throughout the night I can pick him up around 10am. Real estate M8 rang and said he was emailing the paperwork for us to sign to sell the block. How do you sign papers on the computer? Off now Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bruce x

Certainly having an early night Dot, trust George has a really peaceful good night & he is able to return home tomorrow.

We went to our GP today, I’ve had an annoying cough for about a month occasionally bringing up phlegm the size of green peas, my lungs feel sore & I have been getting pain in them, he’s given me a course of antibiotics, if it persists will have them x rayed.

Goodnight one & all.
Shirley & Bruce.

Good luck with terrifying the moggy Dot. Once you return it to whence it came from, try pouring a few cups of ammonia around the fence lines. Apparently they are meant to think a tiger is here, so stay away...might help, might not. Just something my mother swore worked for her. xxxx

Shirley, it must have been medical day up here on the coast. We went for our flu shots and ended up with a diagnosis of return of the stomache ulcer bug. So I am on a huge course of antibiotics, not great, but I am still semi upright! Good luck with your drugs too mate, hope you have a miracle recovery.

After we came home from the quacks , we started to pack a few things into the caravan and sort out the timer lights etc. A little while later, his nibs told me to look at f**kbook. Our tour leader has put up a weather report showing huge rains and damaging winds for Friday and Saturday. As we both feel a bit crappy and the thought of sitting in the van on a mud heap was just one step too far. I rang and cancelled the park at Hawkes Nest and realised that we aren't in the right frame of mind anyway. A few more of the stupid little things that need doing, can now get done.

His lordship tells me that the jam is good. So I better get a taste of it soon, before he demolishes it all.

After semi packing the van and then unpacking it, I am stuffed. We do work like a well oiled machine with each knowing the tasks needed, but it is still up and down stairs and lots of boxes of things needing to be carted to the van. Now that Hawkes Nest is out of the running, we both started to relax a bit. We realised that with two events happening in the next two weekends, it may have been a bit too much for us at the moment.

G rang me this morning to wake me up so I could pick him up from the hospital  I did a load of washing last night and hung it out this morning. No cat in trap yet but I reckon it has been kept in but for how long before they go back to letting it out. I put Brian out while I was hanging washing and me getting dressed so he did his business but would not come inside and ran like a looney when I tried to pick him up but he come in when he had had his fun. Picked G up and as soon as we got home he had the jug on and biscuits on his plate so he is well and truly back to near normal. He had the laparoscopic procedure so recovery time is cut by half. Ordinary paracetamol is doing the pain relief job. Off to bed soon back to the kiln now Deborah. Get those balls polished up Shirley. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Macca x :D
