Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Glad you got home safely Dot. Trying not to repeat the trips that others seem to be having....won't mention names, we all know who you are. ;) ;) xxxx

Thanks for the good wishes, we are certainly not hanging around for another 50 odd years that's for certain.

Today was a day for many phone calls from our "children" and those who identify as ours. We had a very quiet lair day and did very little. The family has been banned from visiting because so many of the roads are not really safe after this wet season and I don't want them driving in the rain either. We will all catch up eventually.

The plate is now being warmed up over a mold, I just can't get the love for it now. It's not perfect, but will do the job (I hope).

good night all xxx

tyre Taggerty 24.JPG
Deborah this is what happened to the tyre on the way home. Got the tyre man to come around to see what needs to be done and that was a new tyre so that has been ordered so may as well get the ol gal serviced and an all over check up before we ?? head off North?? AJ rang me tonight to say the windscreen had been hit by ?? and so she rang OBriens, they told her she would have to go to them and because the car had the auto rain windscreen wipers that was not a "claim" ?? WTF she told them they were guilty of false advertising as they say they come to you. What is this weird world coming to. Got all the washing done and all put away, now to clean the bus and repack, never ends does it ?Hope the repaired plate looks ok Deborah, Shirley are Bruce's eyes any better? Did a bit of garden cleaning up this arvo, but all the wisteria leaves will be back there again in the morning. We need rain really badly now, the ground is so dry. No BOB's tonight as it's a rest day for them so I may as well get to bed. Take care everyone if on the roads and hope the sickies are recovering. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Pet-els x :D

Dot, that's not a pretty picture at all. Hope the repairs are manageable. xxxx

Today the newer plate was not good. It had slipped in the mold and was uneven...not happy with it. It's been put in the too hard basket for a while. I cleaned up the original and filed down the bits that annoyed me. It's been put back to re-shape tonight. This is looking like a very slow repair. I contacted the lady and told her that it may be a while and she was happy to wait, so maybe it will be ready for her soon-ish.

After I spent the morning sorting a replacement gas cylinder and a plumber to come a fix a leaky tap (his nibs tried first, but in a tricky spot). Plumber will come next week when we are home. Then this afternoon was spent at a progress meeting with several like minded peoples. I always seem to land a job, but it's ok. I can make up some fancy official looking invites to our history walk opening.

Tomorrow will be a pack the van day. We are off to Tuncurry with our jayco mob for a happy week in the sun    We are going regardless of the weather and we will enjoy ourselves....or else! Maybe the or else would be that we come home early, but he is such a tight wad, we have paid for this week, so it will happen.

A chilly night again but the day was just magic and lots of garden tidying up was done and Oh boy are my feet letting me know it. Watching the BOB's. Thinking of bringing most of the Hoya's inside for the winter. Dear ol AJ certainly gave all the plants incl the hoyas a dam good soaking (Which they don't need) but she meant well. Have fun with your Jayco mob Deborah your BOB 's are doing ok. Poor Bruce having that reaction esp painful for the eyes. . Good thing you took him to hosp Shirley. Why does our TV decide to go spastic when some lights and things like toaster is turned on? I reckon there is mice chewing the wiring   Trailer going to the auto elect tomorrow as light not working !! How are you doing NC George after your surgery, are the eyes a nice colour? 2 sleepy lizards seen sunbathing down under some pallets so put some water out for them. Wonder where Terry and Margaret are right now? Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Nigel x :D

Dotty, did you exhaust yourself with all that bus unpacking and cleaning? Easy to get stuffed doing these things. Good to see you still doing things around the garden. In your winter, I agree with bringing the hoyas into a protected spot. Hope it works for you xxxx

Had a success with the original plate...I hope. It looked ok this morning, but will leave final judgement until we return. I have enough happening at the moment.
Last year we bought and installed a new gas flame heater. It's meant to look as stunning in the fire logs as the previous one, but when we turned it on over the weekend, the barely visible flame just totally depressed me. I sent off an email with pics to the manufacturer (in Melbum) and have gotten the run around. They do great heaters, but service is appalling. I finally got in touch with our installer by text and email. He is the only one qualified to work on these heaters locally and is usually a pita to get to travel up to us. He will be here next Friday, so bonus day all round. He thinks it could be as simple as the regulator on the gas bottles, being over ten years old could need to be replaced. I do hope that he is right. A real pita until the heater is working properly, but we wont be here to look at it.

Our van is mostly packed and ready to roll in the morning, so looking forward to escaping. As today was sunny, the ground feels a bit safer to pull the van out without a total mess of his grass.

NIghty night xxx

The tyre man rang today to let us know the price incl fitting here at home will be $350, not to shabby I thought. Also found a windscreen place that has a windscreen in stock that is our bus's size and the price is unreal compared to some prices we have heard of. Will get the one he has JUST in case because they are hard to find. $600 compared to $3k we have heard of IF you can find them All in all today has been a good day. I have noticed that Brian has slowed down and his eyes are running more so a check up is required this week. :( Happy travels Deborah, enjoy your catch up. Mowed the grass and sprinkled blade runner over then watered it in, the ground was so dry. Keep the covid away people wear those masks when out and about. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bernie x :D

I am on van time again Dot, so will probably be here early each night. It's warmer to go to bed to read, so will do that now. Tyre price sounds better than expected, so that's good. xxxx

Had a safe drive up to Tuncurry in the sunshine and boy it was bright. We enjoyed the drive and found it quite relaxing. The truckies had pulled off at one of the rest areas and were having what appeared to be a union meeting. There were so many trucks that we couldn't stop and had to go to the next one. Once all the trucks were pulled over, we had a very clear run.

Had a quick set up and all was ok until we realised that the extra step that we carry is still at home. No real drama. This town has a great recycling shop at the garbage tip. Off we went, found what we wanted in record time and just before they announced it was closing time. We paid our $10 and left. As they often have more interesting stuff than even vinnies, we will return before the week is out. We now have a much safer exit from the van. Tomorrow will probably be a vinnies day.

Sweet dreams xxx

Dot, are you storing a spare windscreen? What happens if you need it in Cape York? Sorry for the random thought. xxxx

Ncle George, hope you eyes feel a lot better today. Which one of our local butchers did your surgery?

Had a very tame day. We re-visited the tip shop and came back with a nice plate to use as a mold, for a whole dollar.
Then off to a local oyster restaurant for a late lunch. We both had a yummo bowl of chilli prawns and mussels. We had so much to eat, that we returned to the van, had a short walk and then big rest on the bed and suddenly it was 6pm. So a very slow day.

I spent the day mowing the other half of our block & did all the edges, feeling tired, to much grass to mow in one go.
Dot, didn’t need to water in our location, we’ve had heaps of rain, beautiful sunshine today.

Another orchid that I have had for over 20years.

Enjoy your weekend at Tuncurry Deborah, my niece’s partner operates a bull dozer at Taree tip, I was amazed at some of the things that they had purchased from the shop.

So Deborah you stuffed yourself good and proper, good find at the tip shop. Re the windscreen they are very hard to get hold of and that price is a really good one. Q/ Where is cape York? Don't go up that far anyway, too many horrid snakes and crocks plus far too hot for this old chook. . Off to the city in the morning for the cancer dental clinic and some shopping (op shops) on the way home. Brian had vet check up today, he has lost 100grms but still doing ok. Upped his anti viral drug dose for 2 more weeks. Sprayed the roses for black spot today. Cool night again might get a sprinkle of moisture over the next few days but will believe it when we see or feel it. Shirley I have an orchid that I have had for 15 years, it flowers even when it hasn't been watered or hardy any dirt, tough as. BOB are on so I am saying goodnight to everyone x :D Goodnight Darryl and Annette x :D
