Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Keep warm and rested Dot, it's nasty out there xxxx
Yesterday, I had no internet working so didn't find you all. I went to the quacks because my knee is giving me hell. All sorted referrals for xrays and scan and for a steroid injection. I mentioned that his lordship was unwell and was told to get the latest covid/flu test kit and double check his signs. Chemist was all out of them, so had to go back today to get it. As soon as we got home, he did the test and yes, he does have covid. I truly think he is way over the worst, but he tells me he is still very sick. I phoned the doc, only to find he isn't in today or tomorrow, so another doc called this afternoon and arranged for me to go and collect the antivirals. Hopefully he will get better quickly, now that he has drugs, he will improve even if it's only psychological.
I had the scan and xrays today, there is more going on than the baker's cyst that the doc assumed, but I will have the steroids on Friday and see how they affect the problems. It was weird, being able to get into the scan place as quickly as that. Since covid, there has always been long waits for this place. Turns out, a new place has opened up that only does things for medicare and only pensioners are accepted. They have a three week wait. I didn't pay that much more ($180) and will get most of it back.
Stay warm out there,

Deb... yesterday my wife changed medical centres....she did go to Childers...but now new owners don't bulk bill....went from nothing to $84 for 10min.
She's now with me at Biggenden who bulk bill. There's a lot of greedy people in this world.
Bernie.

Deborah, the new Ace Radiology at LH, bulk bill all Medicare card holders only a few procedures are exceptions.
Bernie no bulk billing Drs in our area, $68 for normal 10mins., consultations, think they bulk bill children.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, you still watching those pretty BOBs?
Thanks Shirley, interesting advice. It's obvious that the competition has driven the customers away from Tuggerah, unfortunately, I go there to see a specific doc for injections....looks like he has retired, so taking my chances a bit here!
I also didn't want to wait the three weeks that the new one is quoting.
Today I wanted to chase up on an electric blanket from aldi. They were on "special buys" last week, but we were not going anywhere last week. They carry an electric blanket that can heat the body and feet separately and for $55 it's a way lot cheaper than the sunbeam thing that does the same. We have had our current one for at least 10 years and it seems to be getting a bit slower to warm up. The new one will be put on hold until the old one gives up the ghost a bit more. You can bet that when we do finally need one, aldi won't have them, so this is almost an insurance policy to keep my feet warm. The first aldi that we went to, had one so that was good. I did a bit more shopping and found that the knee was not happy with that.
The shed work was a bit disappointing. The bits that I had put in, didn't fully fuse. Tonight they are getting a bit hotter fuse with double the time. Hoping that will be enough to give me the earrings that I need to have ready for the next event.
Obviously, not a lot happening in the lair at the moment.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, BOBS still?
Last night's blobs were a total failure. I suspect that the clear glass that I used on the top of each shape is incompatible with the stuff that I always use. It came in a bulk buy from a lady in Armidale. The rest of her glass has been spot on, so don't know what happened there. The whole lot got thrown in the bin and more will be done soon. Today I put in a load of Aboriginal earrings. They do sell and I am running low. That's tonight's offerings to the kiln fairies.
Just for Dot. Here's what the broken plate looked like. This is it repaired, with a very thick bum. The replacement that is very similar, but better made That's it for today

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Hey Dot, you and G'man still crook? Take good care mates, stay warm and dry xxxx
Had a weird interweb night last night, so didn't come on to visit.
yesterday I had the steroid into my knee and so far, so good. I suspect that the anasthetic is still wearing off and I am touching my wooden head as I write this.
I had a load of earrings in the kiln last night, but as it's been pissing down for all of today, I let his nibs go and turn the kiln off, but haven't gone down in the mud to work on it yet. I really need to have some new indigenous earrings for the Penrith event in a couple of weeks. They sell well in that area. As we hope to be having a jayco escape next weekend, there is little time to get the jobs done. I was told to stay off my feet for at least a day, so the stairs to get down to my shed did not appeal. Add the inch of rain that we had overnight and about the same today, I don't really want to slush on down to the shed. I may brave the shed tomorrow, or not. Time will tell.
Well sort of....

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Been very cold up here today. Max 11.5deg. Inside day and heater on. Hope both Dot and G Man is starting to feel better. We are still OK up here so you did not pick up the bug on your visit. A little bit of rain ( 9mm) but it looks like it is keeping dry all next week.
Goodnight all. Cheers John

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Just heard from Dot. Both Dot and George have tested positive to covid. They have had the anti virals and are starting to feel a bit better. George is better than Dot, as her immune system could be a bit better.
Take it easy and get well soon all our lot that aren't well.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot and G'man, take care, stay warm and try some chicken soup. Poor things, it's just such an insidious disease and it seems to just hit us at any time that it is inconvenient. I don't suppose there really is a time that's convenient to be sick. Hope the bugs gets destroyed in your systems soon. xxxxxx
Thanks David for the update, it is not good news, but better than no news.
Today was a waste of time here. Plumber was meant to be coming at 10 to work on our heater. He rang at 11 to say that his job was taking longer and he would come in the pm. Still not heard form him or seen him.
Next was to get a few silly things looked at with the computer. Time for it's annual check up. Our lovely man did a remote fiddle and found that the machine is overheating, so needs to have all the insides cleaned up. He was going to send a man around 4pm to collect the machine and have it back to me tomorrow. I went off to my progress meeting with instructions for his lordship on handing over the machine. During the meeting, I had a call to say the man was running late and would arrange for someone to collect the machine tomorrow morning. Not impressed. The positive, was that I had forgotten to do my annual save to the portable hard drive. That's all done now, so my important files are safe for now.
If I am not here tomorrow, it's because the computer man hasn't finished my job.
