Getting in early today, as tomorrow we have to be rolling before the sparrows even think about farting!
Heading to The Big Smoke to the south for a memorial service for DiL's father, who dropped off the twig a month ago with a massive heart attack.
Sixty-nine and a gym fanatic (4 days a week!). You never can tell…

Another 1.5km walk yesterday around the swamp.
Wednesday's walk we came across a massive flock of pelicans & a pair of black swans on the swamp. :P :P

(The pics shows only about a quarter of the flock, the rest were around the curve in the waterway.)
Thursday we went back to see them again.
There was one solitary pelican and no sign of the swans. :(
I guess The Swamp was just a refuelling stopover, as the pelicans were chasing a school of fish around the water.

RnB, I meant the size of the towel is huge or was huge I couldn't figure out how he got his theatre hat on. He did me ok . Saw the oncologist today he asked me some questions about sleep as I mentioned my tiredness and apparently, I scored high so he is sending me to a lady to do apnea and breathing tests, apparently it can be done at home these days and not having to sleep elsewhere with all those wires all hooked up. He also felt my neck and the tightness and said that people that have had the same ops as I have are very likely to have those spasms / cramps. No heart probs. He told me of what some people in Sth Africa do when they feel or at the start of a calf cramp is to dip your finger in salt and shove that on your tongue> "What tongue I asked" and was treated by a smile  Anyway that was our day and glad to get home, fush n chups for tea tonight. Tanks I did manage to stay awake for most of the ''The meaning of life" but barely , got to the vaginal juices section   so off to real bed now. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Tanks x :D

Good luck with government departments Terry. Sounds like you were sold a vehicle with fraudulent paperwork, by some pretty shady dealers.
It gets worse, found the Qld rego inspection dated nov 2023, the motorhome certainly hadn't been to Qld to get checked for rego and I'm guessing he just took that to the NSW bloke and he believed it had just been inspected, so didn't do a full inspection, the r/h eye flogged out in the I beam would have been obvious if he had
Dept Fair Trading can't help, it was a private sale, my fault really I guess, I should have jacked it up myself and checked it, but I trusted it had been through a full blue slip inspection, seems it wasn't inspected by anyone, Qld or NSW.
Guess I was lucky I didn't get dragged into a random road side inspection station, we would have ended our travels there and then .....

Dot, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at your comment about the salt on your tongue. Maybe worth trying it with whatever tongue you have left tho. :) Sounds like the sleep thing might be yet another PITA for you. Take care mate xxxx

Terry, you have definitely been scammed by your seller and it's such a shame the fair trading mob don't give a rats. You certainly missed a bullet with the roadside inspectors. We see them often pulling trucks over. Thankfully, they haven't pulled us up. Good luck getting the parts that you need, sounds like another PITA job for you.

We had the solar battery man call in today, to check that we have a legal space to install the new battery. It has to be 900cm from any electrical things or water tanks. Our outside unit for the airconditioner is right in the only place that he claims is legal. I have suggested that we build a fibro shield between the water tank and the battery. He has to go back to his boss and see what they can work out. In the meantime, I have called the air con guy to come and give me a quote to move the flaming thing. Not happy Jan.

HIs nibs spent some time moving his things out of my shed, while I was doing some paperwork. He wasn't reminded, he just did it. :o He asked me to come and check the scene in case he has forgotten anything, which he hadn't. Job well done, but then he saw the castors that we bought a few months ago to be fitted under the old kiln. I was sent to finish the paperwork and he got to and built a wheely good base for the kiln. Kiln sits into a steel framed stand, so it wasn't really an easy job. The frame had to be secured to the base with the wheels under it and then the kiln had to sit back onto the stand. The kiln weighs over 80 kilos, so it's been a long day, doing very heavy things. That job took us a couple of hours, but the shed is back to operational now.

I did have time to sneak a look at the recycled glass in the new kiln. It looks ok, but is very rough to touch and has no shine at all. I am not sure that this is something I want to waste my time with, if after two very long, hot firings it isn't really useful or needs a lot more hand work, before the next firing. It may end up going in the bin, along with the rest of the glass shards from that door .

Stay sane out there,
night all xxx
Deborah

Deborah I bought 2 roses today $4.50 from Big W but a lot of them were really suffering from water, I hate to see that so I told the girl roaming around. My footy team lost today  Tanks kept me informed as to scores because we didn't have it on here. BUT I picked up because the BOB's are now on Stage 1 of the Tour de France and my favorite boys (teams) are both back from injury. Wout Van Aert Yumbo Visma and the Pog from UAE . Only 3 weeks to go :D Deborah re my tongue and salt If I was asleep I would most likely lick my wrist  Bought some garlic chicken things from woolies and they were as tough as old boots, not even G could eat them so they will be going back tomorrow all wrapped up in glad wrap. Really sick of getting shit meat and woody fruit and green spuds, have not been refused refunds yet. Hope Pheonix is doing better Jd. My latest hate TV ad is Caruso's poo ease or whatever the name is, who wants to see a guy sitting on a bog gritting his teeth??? Only 67ks to go now and time for me to say goodnight everyone x Goodnight Bobr x :D

Dot, what colour roses did you buy? That was a really good price too. xxxx

I finished the tidy up in my shed and then got down to real work. The recycled glass looked great, but was so rough and ugly underneath that I decided enough is enough. It costs me a tenner every time I fire the kiln on a long, super hot firing and this glass would have needed at least another two firings. It has been relegated to the bin, along with the rest of the door that it came from.

As Shirley has told you, it's cold and looking like being a really crappy, wet week. I am so glad that we do not have to be doing a stall anywhere this week. While the sun tried to warm us today, the black clouds were gathering and it got much colder as the afternoon faded. Not looking forward to another wet week.

Terry, I'm assuming the king pin eye in the axle. I recently did my king pins and had to fit an 10 thou oversize pin the the left hand. Bit easier than I thought it was going to be.

Slowly slowly. Opening the bottom to accommodate the bigger pin.

Oh dear I slept all day, awoke at 6pm. Deborah the roses were Double delight (my other one is not looking the best) and a Queen Elizabeth as I liked the smell. Also AJ does not like the royal family so I thought I would stir her up and I do like the pink color and smell. First smelt one at Rays place. It had been a stinker of a day rain, wind and it keeps on coming. Brian did a 5 minute dunny dash after his tea and is back asleep on G's knee. My M8 in NZ just sent me a message that one of her Dobey dogs passed away this morning from ?? gut obstruction of wool and a PM is being done. That just leaves her with 3 dogs left now. :( :( Winge for tonight, watching Border Patrol and the piddly punishments these "people" get. Indonesian fishing boats eg. shark fin boat skipper charged $45k instead he got 45 days jail. (at our expense) People bringing in illegal food, getting a $200 fine or a warning, you get more than that for farting in your car. Time these authorities got serious with protecting out country. end of rant. Happy bowls Shirley, bring it home. Stay warm and Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Chuck x :D

Can't go wrong with the double delight Dot. That's what we have in our foothpath front garden. They are all standards, so look pretty speccie in Spring. We need to replace one, but haven't found any in standards at all. We may have to order online. Once the roses give us their first flush, the dahlias start coming up underneath them. Then it really is a beautiful garden, but it is a lot of work keeping them looking good. Your Kiwi mate is having a shitty run, hope she is safe. xxxx

The weather here is just cold and more cold. Yes, it is winter, but it's not this cold, for so long, in a normal year. The rain was super loud last night and then it was dry-ish for the day, but ever so cold.

The kiln things looked ok-ish. I will have to get busy with the glue and metal bits to turn them into jewellery soon. Today, I decided to get a start on using some of the buckets of scrap that I bought in March. I wanted to make a black and white sandwich platter. I did finally find enough pieces of black n white to make the plate, but it was a difficult search and rescue job. Like all good snake oil sellers, the lady had put most of the bigger pieces on top of each box, covering the piles of tiny pieces. They can be used, but not quite what I thought I was buying. I am sure that many more plates will come from these boxes, but the method of working the glass may need to change as I get through some of the shards.

Sweet dreams xxx
