Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Hi Dot. Trying to type with a cat on my lap. All OK up here but are having a few frosts that are burning the garden a bit. Had a trip down towards Stawell Vic. a few weeks ago to try Evie ( the cat) in the motorhome to see how she would go. Traveled OK and was OK during the night but would not use it's sand tray so by the third day we came home again as she was showing signs of distress. Evie knew she was home as we pulled into the driveway and was out of the motorhome like a rocket. Will try again sometime as it would make getting away a lot easier if she took to it. Almond trees are out in blossom so another season starts again. Cheers John

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
To get Puttin Tat settled in the Hino motorhome, I spent the night before we left in the motorhome with him so he could check it all out and decide if he felt safe to sleep with me on the bed. Not a problem after that, but we did take him out on the lead a few times to use the big outside toilet. When we had to travel in the Mazda after the Hino burnt in the workshop fire, he wasn't near as settled and at one stage in Melbourne, did a runner out through the passenger window ...... we thought we'd lost him, but the following day, he came up on the back patio to talk to Margaret, then that evening came into the Mazda by himself. He was fine after that, but the neighbourhood cats didn't know what had hit them, the cat next door thought he was the boss but every night after his "night on the town" the next door cat would wait for Puttin to come out and leave a present for him. That cat must have had his own stash of mice, a fresh headless mouse waiting for him every timeRiverlander wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2024 10:24 pm Hi Dot. Trying to type with a cat on my lap. Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
After todays cock ups I had to have a nap ( haha 4hrs) Can't even stay awake now to watch any of the olympics. Because of my crap feet Gp said you can get the pain patches in a pack of 3 for a test run for $32 they are named Nervoderm (over the counter) and the script one is Versatis patch 5% 30 pack approx $150 .. Also before I decide if to try them she asked me to ring the rheumatologist as he said I could to discuss the use of a drug that may help whatever arthritis I have . He suggested a trial of Salazalazine over 3 mths as it takes this long to kick in.. Plus I have to have regular blood tests. I hate this old age thing, pills pills and more bloody pills. Keep your TV's free for "the debate" on ABC Sept 10th
Take care everyone esp on the roads. Hunt for a bus door over the weekend George told me I was wrong with the waiting time for one to be made was 3-4months not weeks as I thought.. Might just get the perspex (window) replaced. Goodnight everyone x

Get a Plexiglass window made from the extra tough version, that is what they use for aircraft windows, good stuff and very light and easy to work with ... it might even be worth buying a full sheet and George doing the job himself, then you can make window replacements as needed ..... but don't leave the remains of your sheet where it might catch fire .... it isn't fire resistantDot wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 12:22 am After todays cock ups I had to have a nap ( haha 4hrs) Can't even stay awake now to watch any of the olympics. Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Yes Dot, long covid has a mind of it's own. Take it slowly and every day as it it comes. Some days will be better than others until one day, you think, hey I haven't been so slow this week. xxxx
Had a slow day yesterday and the same today. I ventured to my shed and put the plates on molds for slumping down into. Today the glass wasn't down far enough, so added little bit of height to the molds and they are warming up again tonight.
I spent most of the day, just filling out the admission forms for the horspital. Thanks to my computing skills, I have all my medical history on a file that started in 1988, with our first computer. Thankfully, I have kept it up to date. I was happy to fill in that section with see attached paper. The same with my allergies and medications. I would never be able to verbally list the huge amount of legal drugs that I am on, or the ridiculous things that cause different reactions . That has been the last two days.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, I think we are both on planet give me a sleep. I woke up at noon today and had a nap again at 4pm. All good mate xxxx
After my late start to the day, there was not a lot of time for the shed. I wandered down there, after my late nap. The plates look ok, but one keeps having a roll on one edge. It looks weird. I took the good one out and fed the crappy one to the better mold, added some more height in the sides and it's having a slightly hotter, longer night.
Truly, that is it for the day. I had a bit of learning curve with the new microwave and air fryer, but ended up with an edible dinner. Still learning new stuff, that's for sure.
Have a look at Chihuly in Adelaide. I am thinking of a road trip. His works are amazing. He is glass blower and a lot of his staff do the actual blowing. I am in awe of the way he constructs such huge pieces of glass for display. I will keep you posted about that one. Knee surgery first.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Don't skip out on doing the muscle strengthening around the knee before the surgery Deborah, it may hurt now, but nothing like the amount it will hurt after if you don't get the muscles strong enough to hold the two halves of the joint from hitting each other. Just having the bone shattered bit trimmed when I had the knee surgery all those yrs ago was a serious wake up call to listen and follow the physio's instructions, every day, not just on physio day
