Dot, I got it now. Norman is still in jail for behaving badly. Separate cages for that pair of incestual birds! xxxx
I finally received a reply from the Sydney organiser. He said all the right things about our sht health surprises and then added that he is trying to find someone to replace our stall, to no avail....not that he would tell us if that did happen. He will put my money to the next event if he finds someone....pigs are flying...I have said good bye to that money.
I spat the dummy today and decided not to wear the blasted elastic knee brace. I have had a lot less pain today. Is this is a co-incidence? I vote for freedom for all knees!
After a lovely start to the day, the winds blew up a mini tornado (not quite, but close) It had icicles in it and we really felt like it was Antarctic conditions. The clouds became quite dark at times, but we had only a few spits of rain. I spent the day up inside the house, watching the moods of the lake and doing very little else.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah We have done everything possible to stop the nooky nooky with his daughter , have tried the separation thing, they both went berserk, let them sit on an assortment of things they thought were eggs ie golf balls, ping pong balls, ceramic eggs but they kept on laying. Might drop in on our old vet now retired she was a specialist in birds and chooks to see if she has any ideas. On second thoughts on the separation idea
I might try it again but this time Norman to go into Pete's old cage and put it out of sight of his daughters. The BOB's start tonight and the good riders are all fit and ready to go. Deborah I know what you are saying about the elastic knee braces, I had the ones for my feet, so hard to get both on and off. Bring on the op, have a spinal. interesting subjects discussed in the OT
just try to stay pain free. Bed time for me and Brian so Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, since banning the brace, I am a lot more pain free, go figure. I still maintain that physio is just another name for a pain inflictor. If it doesn't hurt, it's not doing you any good. Poor Norman, send him to purgatory and a long way from his dear one.xxxx
Today was a horrible weather day again. Started out sunny and declined into crap. I declared another inside day. I took a while to sort out my drugs into their little containers for the next month. I have to stop certain drugs on special days before the op, so that week's drugs were carefully sorted out. As I was doing them, I put the boxes with only one sheet of drugs into a few separate plastic lock bags for the hospital. A couple of them will need a docs script to have the right labels on the boxes. No dramas, we already have an appointment to see him this week.
Tomorrow will be a torture day. WE have to leave home before I usually get out of bed to be at the hospital to see a nurse (really?) and then at 1;30 I have to see the team of physios, OC, and dietitian, for a couple of hours. I am already losing interest in this place.
That's it for this weekend

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah hope your knee is still being kind to you . Any pics of your latest yet? Today we dropped off the broken window to the bus at the windscreen place for a new one and got it darkened a shade or two up. Then down the freeway to a shop named HOME as they were on a list of places we could spend $100, ha ha It is a Kath and Kim shop (posh) all it had was over priced knives frypans etc so nothing there for us, so off up the road to Petbarn Brian has enough food for the next 12 mths or more and the birds as well Spent $195 and still have another $300 left in vouchers to spend, Supercheap, BCF, and a few other shops but will use when we need something We won 5 x $100 vouchers from the Hospital raffle last year. Got home at 4.30pm and that was me, had a pee and a cuppa then flopped on the chair and had a nap. BOB's have just 30ks left to go. How are you doing now Shirley? Bed time for me so Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
The dreaded php is acting up again 3rd go.
Went back to the Dr today Dot, he believes I have a lung infection, 2 swabs with pathology to see if it’s Covid or RSV, Antibiotics, Steroids & chest X-ray this arvo, will be 3 weeks Wednesday since I 1st visited him with dull pain in lungs & breathlessness
Deborah you sure are going to have a long tiring day, hopefully it’s all helpful & sounds like you’ll have commuter traffic to contend with to get to the hospital.

Shirley, I don't mean to alarm you or cause any disrespect, but the reason I'm here waiting in a palliative care room, is because the doctor didn't follow up on his test results and the poor old FiL finished up with pneumonia and then he went on a downward spiral. Some people say that older people become invisible to mainstream medicine after a certain age.
Cheers

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
David, I received the pathology swab tests this morning, both negative, haven’t had Covid or RSV.
I am feeling a little better taking the antibiotics & steroids, still have a dull pain in the lungs, not coughing as much, still breathless after hanging some washing on the line this morning.
It’s not good news re your FIL, certainly hope I don’t have pneumonia, it’s weird I haven’t had flu like symptoms, only brought up clear phlegm with occasional green bits, hopefully the X-ray will be ok, thanks I agree with what you say re age.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot after physio, my knee is in another world of pain. It's having a rest, so no exercises tonight. photos ? maybe get my mojo back soon. xxxx
Have you thought about borrowing a girl parrot from somewhere to satisfy you randy Norman??? xxxx
David, you are spot on about old farts being invisible. I have found that there is a huge need to speak up and be heard. Luckily our GP is not one like that.
Shirley, you take precautions to not catch any more infections. Sounds like shopping getting delivered to you for a while or wearing a mask in the shops. Don't let the medical people brush you aside. xxxxx
Today was torture at the physios. But she calmed me down about the ridiculous exercise regime that the hospital was demanding. Apparently, the exercises that we have been doing are getting the same results and not being done every two hours. . So I am a little bit less on edge now.
Visit to Gp tomorrow to sort out a few things. Drugs and scripts.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You naughty girl Deborah, who would then be responsible for the eggs = babies? And that would be adultery. He has another daughter but he has his fav. Might gather the eggs and get a few and scramble them ?? no different to an chooks egg or an emu's egg. I mentioned to AJ about my sore elbows when I stretched them out sideways and she told me to get back on the table then she hit the spot, Well she said you didn't tell me you were having trouble with them. said when I slept with my arms curled up the tendons then had to stretch out and then the pain was noticed, see how tomorrow goes. BOB's on now 82ks to go. Lots of olive trees through Spain but wouldn't go there because of their cruelty with the bull fighting etc. Looks like we are going to be in for some warm weather soon, can't win can we? Fruit trees are starting to blossom. Re Drs and us oldies, Many years ago my dad told me to be prepared as once you hit 70years of age the medical profession do not want to know you. And guess what? he was bloody well right as usual . Luckily we have a great team of medicos and only once have I peed one off for not showing any interest in my case. Be brave us oldies and stand up for your rights. On that note I am off to bed to finish watching the BOB's so Goodnight everyone x
