Have fun with the youngsters Dot....amazing how they can be very helpful at times. xxxx
Terry, amazing just how much damage, stress can cause in anyone and you seem to have been magnetised to these sorts of situations for a while. Maybe you could start with finding all the broken mirrors and try to glue them back together again. Maybe make a mosaiced wall of all the mirrors somewhere.
Today was another stinker here. Well it was hot in Gosford anyways. We had a steady stream of people through the doors, but I don't think too many of them were customers. They were just trying to get cool. We did end up with a small profit, but it felt like pulling teeth for most of the day. Any extra bits, were really hard earned. We were back home by 7:30 and eating a bit of toast half an hour later. Now for some well earnt sleep. What's the bet the phone wakes us with news of a bushfire or expectation of a parcel delivery? Going on last week, probability is pretty high .

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
All happy today. Just back from Adelaide from Faye's 6 month cancer check-up and all clear. Always nice to get that over for another 6 months. Coming up 5 years from first op. Had two days in the 40's up here but today was only about 28deg. with 7mm of rain last night to freshen things up a bit. Goodnight All. Cheers John

John, well done Faye with a great result Keep it up,
Deborah, yes the young ones are good at these things told them to have a rest before attempting all our tech issues. I was up at 7am and at the airport right on time. They did a bit of checking out of the town to see how things have changed since Shaun left for Qld 17 years ago, he has a few days to catch up with his old school mates and to show his "lady friend" around the area. She seems a nice girl (52 yrs old)
Hope your sales went well.

Had to have a little nanna nap this arvo. Stirred up the Dental clinic and told the PA to the female dog that said I was "stable" and was discharged from the clinic and to go to the local dentist Oct 25. My oncologist said I need checking on every 3 mths. Going to be interesting as I told the PA the boss lady had no right to dismiss me as she did and was rude in not replying to my ph call in Oct. She may ring me tomorrow but ha ha I am refired. Same as for the geriatrician, told them I needed to see the man asap as my situation had changed so she advised my GP of oncologist to send an addendum and that will bring my case up sooner. No more sitting back letting people behind desks decide my future . Thats my days activities so Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, you are living up to my favourite tshirt (I wear it often these days) It says "You thought I was just a little old lady" Under a peace sign and veedub, the wording says "that was your first mistake". I think you are starting to act out that vibe too. Well done, take no crap from nobody especially doctor's receptionists who act like Hitler. Hope you get in sooner than asap. Enjoy the young ones Dot xxxx
Started to have a quiet day, after the phone woke me to tell me I had a parcel coming and there was a bush fire somewhere. Both of the prophesies were right on. Anyway, the next surprise was the tax accountant. I had rung before Christmas to make an appointment for the next month. Well the only vacancy they could find is for this flamin Friday. Many hours were spent sorting through the box of receipts and putting the info into a spreadsheet. Good to have it done and out of the way. With all the work that we did to our rental shack, while no rent for 3 months, we made a total profit for the year of something like $370. I don't think we will put in new carpet, repaint walls, replace the dunny etc for many years to come. It should be a bit more profitable next year.
Next to call us was the caravan man. He finally has all the parts to finish off the job of replacing the ceiling in the van ensuite and a few more crazy jobs. He will be out to finish that job next Wednesday, but only after I promised him a ride in the lift. He was here when the first build was happening
I guess tomorrow, I will find the time to try to track down the kiln man and a couple of other people who were on the list for today. I think retirement is happening for us, just to keep the medical profession in caviar and the rest of our trades just causing us to hang around waiting for their calls. Just sometimes a mobile phone is handy to have. With log of calls missed etc, the tradies cannot tell me that they have tried to call to book us in...like that tshirt, not this little old lady!

That’s wonderful news John. Give Faye a hug from us. Erich begins his radiation treatment on Thursday, 33 doses, 5 days a week. We may take the MH out and stay at Hervey Bay for some of the treatment. Just waiting on a part to fix the MH satellite dish first.Riverlander wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 9:04 pm All happy today. Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I am on a roll, The sleep clinic rang to see if I had sent the hosp forms in, yep in Oct. She rang back to say they had found them and if I was on the cancellation list =YES. "Good" she said there is an appointment on the 14th Jan , yes please Woo hoo. Go there for 1900hrs, sleep then go home at 0730hrs and sleep
The female dog from the dental clinic did NOT return my ph call as promised SO she will be getting another call tomorrow then I will get my oncologist on to her.
Made inquiries at RAA and Flight Centre re planes etc to NZ, both came within a $100 of each other and that was for insurance, Gee the fares have gone up. At the end of March everyone coming and going will have to have a visa ??? no matter if you are an ozzie coming home. The youngsters went off to see the rockspiders wife (Shaun's mum) but didn't stay very long
and off they went doing the sights. They are off at 8am to do more of the same before they come back here ready to meet up with his old mates at the pub for tea yeah right.
Tomorrow the lawn man is coming to get rid of the new weeds and to see what mulch we should get. AJ is also on the to go list, back to Mt Barker to pay for the NZ trip. Will also have to shuffle some appointments till after we get back. I am still concerned about leaving Brian.
Deborah you promised a pic of your lift. Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Annette and Darryl x x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, you are nagging! Hope you sort out your fares to the land of sheep. xxxx
Today was a chiro day. so I have now got a much straighter back...feels better too. She thought my high heeled crocs were not the real problem, just need to wear them for shorter times. I wore them all weekend, so no wonder my back was sore.
After your so quiet nagging Dot, your wish may be your command. I spent the whole afternoon swearing at the computer and coulc not get the pics from the phone. I finally found a different way to do things and the phone and computer started to talk to each other. I suspect the old iphone was just not up to the latest software update the computer had done. As soon as I told the computer to talk to the phone it slowly did the job. I have written down what worked and hope to use this system again soon.
Here are the photos of the very straight stairs turned into very curvy stairs. The truck at the bottom of our driveway and the contents after being unloaded The lift and it's operating panel Hope you are all enjoying this freezing cool weather. After the chiro visit today, I asked my driver, to drive me down the drive, park in the carport, so that I could get out of the car out of the heavy rain and go inside, staying dry and rise to the top floor in my lift. I am using roughly once a day and it has already shown it's value. We certainly can stay here for at least another 10 years now.
