Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
Went to sleep watching the BOB's last night. Not a good weekend though, My footy team lost, and missed the V8ts because of rain and then found out we are about to lose another friend from the big C. We had a cuppa at AJ's then went to the nursing home to visit a friend who is in there for palliative care as her breast cancer has returned in her breast bone. On walking out we saw other names we knew so we had a chat to them as well So many we know are now just waiting for their end. Re the bamboo's they are all in pots and are not the spreading ones. I gave them a seasol soaking and hoping they come good again, maybe the house sitter didn't water them enough?? we'll see. Hope your sales went well Deborah. Bowls next hey Shirley? We are doggie sitting for some weeks while her mum goes to UK to visit her bro, looks lie she may be at Taggerty but she will be contained and controlled but she is great at bunny catching. . Take care all you sickies. Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Bernie x

Sounds like you have had a crappy weekend Dot. Seems like so many are discovering the big c, it really is something that as charity, we should all get behind the research sides and press the people for whom we may vote, that this is an election issue. xxxx
I do wish that I could report super sales, but in truth it was a really hot n humid weekend and I suspect a lot would have stayed with their air cons. It's also an election year (always makes people nervous) and the orange puppet master has the whole world on it's toes with talk of a recession. So while we made enough to cover costs, we did have a fun weekend with a great bunch of people.
Saturday we are always asked for a small donation of goods for the cent auction, so I gave a couple of pendants as usual. One of my friends, who we usually se in Sydney has tried Glen Innes and Armidale events for the first time, came past the stall and bought a pair of red earrings. She was so pleased with them and then at the auction, she won a red dichroic necklace. Matched her her earrings perfectly. I could not have planned that one even if I could, she left with a huge smile today. They will keep these two weekends on their calendar for a while to really give them a good trial.
Today I had a lady come by to tell me that last year she bought some bobby pins off me. I have been trying to finish off about a dozen pins that I don't want to stock any more, so I gave them to her as a gift. She burst into tears and gave me a hug. Tomorrow is her 50th birthday and her world is not being kind at the moment. By the time she bought a couple of fancy hair clips, we both had tearful eyes. She left with a huge grin on her face and her partner came back later and thanked me again. It topped off the weekend well. So we may not have made a ton of money, but we have made some fabulous friends.
Robert, I had my first cataract done 3 weeks ago and it has been amazing. No real problems with surgery, over and done in minutes and my vision is incredible in the eye now. I could have had the next one done a fortnight after the first, but because of my business events, I am having the next one done on Monday week. Specialist says that while the improvements are immediate, the final eyeglass testing should not be done until the eyes have been done at least a month, because they do need time to completely settle down. Good luck with yours.
Evening all nice day was had with temps below 30c but no rain here.
Thank you Deborah for the information good to hear yours went well. Not sure when mine will be done as I have the heart echo test on the 28th and my specialist on the 7/4 and she was not happy with me last time.
My left eye with the reading lense is taking longer than I expected to settle, but the majority of the time, I can now read without glasses ...... just every so often, probably when the eyes are tired, I have to find the glasses because the left one doesn't want to focus and the right eye takes over ..... and it is for distance, so I need the $1.50 readers for a while, then everything settles out again and back to normal ......

ahhh. left eye is short vision, right eye is long.
Try putting a fishing sinker in your right shoe. Experiment with the weight and position.
When it's perfect, you'll stop going around in circles..... another idea
T1,
I’m surprised you have one ‘reading’ eye and one ‘distance’ eye. When I had my cataract surgery I was offered a new type of lens with concentric bands of short and long focus.
Surgeon told me the success rate was 95%.
Said the brain would sort out what you were trying to focus on and ignore the other focal length.
I passed, as with my luck at the time I reckoned I would be in the 5%.
I now buy the $2 reading glasses from the Reject Shop. They work just fine.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Did it help with your golf Jon? I've heard that one in the left shoe stops you slicing the ball, one in the right shoe stops you hooking the ball, and one in each shoe helps you stay steady to take that shot from the water hazard ....

Apparently, they have severe hallow effect in bright light, much worse at night, sometimes making night driving very difficult if not impossible, rain on the windscreen or a stone guard over the windscreen .... or even looking through the heavy mesh security screens they sell for anti window intrusion is said to be often difficult or headache inducing ......
I was told they were most definitely not suitable for heavy vehicle driving, the high beam or those projector headlights that seem to momentarily blind you even if they are on low beam, can disorient the vision so bad you are virtually blinded and have to close your eyes for "Shut Down, Reboot" ...... not good if you are driving a heavy vehicle
My eyes are sensitive enough in bright light because of the WMD, worst as needle time approaches, I certainly wouldn't want to risk a side effect like that ...... took 2 1/2 yrs waiting to get this one done, I couldn't imagine having to suffer that for another 2 1/2 yrs for them to swap it out ..... if they even could after that sort of eye torture ....
I did look into it Ray
