Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Gee Dot, that was short and sweet. Can't get sent to detention for that comment mate. xxxx
Took all the boxes of business to Gosford today to set up the stall. The tables are long and very narrow, so I decided to just not put out all the usual stuff (nowhere to put anything). Many of the plates and bowls are still in their crates. The only plus side is, the packing away on Sunday should be a lot quicker than usual. I have been putting the earring stands into thick plastic bags with the earrings still in place. As I was putting them on display, I noticed two pairs had only one earring each. Of course they were in the bag. That makes life a bit easier too.
Shirley has told you how horrible the weather has been. Our neighbours had left a tinny tied front n back to our jetty., and then went away for a weeks holiday. Thursday, the wind had been so bad that the boat had left the front mooring rope and was now parallel to the shore and beached on the sand. We went to it , with the idea of dragging it back to shore. The boat had grounded one side into the sand and the waves were so high that they were crashing right into the boat. It was too full for us to do anything to save it. Last night they came home and while we slept, the waves have become very calm. The teenage son and his mother had the boat back on shore even before we got up for breakie. She won't be happy to have to do some repairs on the little motor that was submerged. Wonder if that will stop them from leaving boats tied to our jetty? Na, the world owes them....if not, they can buy their way out.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Good night everyone. Early night for us. We are planning on being on the road by 4 am tomorrow.
I had a great few days spoiling the little grandson. And we all had a nice dinner at the pub last night. Twas the sons 39th birthday.
The MiL seems to be ok. I think it's here low budget hearing aids causing her confusion. But she won't wear the expensive ones.
We'll be back down here in a few weeks anyway.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah hope your van gets finished soon or should I say I hope it gets started soon
Go and untie the tinny and put on your house roof
That Shirley sure is one tough cookie playing outside in this weather. G had his MRI done on Thursday at 8am and we both see the back man on the 16th July. I told the Spine clinic I would report them for harassment because they were asking me for $ every day. They didn't reply to that apart from confirming my appointment.
How dare they ask for $$ before you even get appointment? I will ha having a chat to the man next Wed when we both see him. It is an american clinic, I didn't realize he had gone to them. Carpets all done but we are making sure they are 100% dry so we can put the furniture back then clear the tiled areas for the tiles to be done. I love being out in the bus just like a holiday. Brian doesn't like his cat toilet for his business so we put him in the house yard until he lets us know he wants to come back inside to hos fluffy bed. Have been watching the BOB's have been some good prangs but my lad (the pog) has been doing great and loves the alps etc. The Jayco boys have been doing pretty good as well. Tomorrow I must pull finger and get some more cuttings burnt if the rain stays away that is. Full moon tonight but far too cold for a moonie and you really need more than one to make a good show. "Name the bum" for the next gathering no PCers
. The scenery in France looks beautiful, who has been there? OK time to say goodnight 99% x

Presently watching the Mushroom killer on ch 7. My footy team lost but the All blasca and the silver ferns beat the hell out of France and Oz and later on the BOB's later on.
Deborah hope your sales went well and David, hope you trip home was smooth and uneventful. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Bus living suits you then, Dot? You will suddenly notice all the space around you when you finally return to house living. Brian will be back to his big favourite chair and the world will be back to normal again. xxxx
Our weekend was a disaster. Saturday night we had the whole town in total blackout. It lasted for over six hours and today I found out that there was a power line down in one of the main streets and everyone had blackout. We had a good amount of sunshine on Saturday, so assume the solar battery had more beans that the last time we had a blackout. The fan for the gas heater stayed on, so we used the gas heater (and it was freezing, so it was an essential). I turned the tv and other things off to conserve the battery for the import things like electric blankets. The computer was not even turned on and it was very quiet here.
As far as trading went, it was pathetic. On Saturday we sold 3 pair of earrings and that was all. Sunday was a bit better, but not a profitable experience. The same event at this time last year, we made a great profit, so we are just thinking this may be a thing with the finances at the moment. Also we realised that the large crowd were mainly young couples with kids. The people who buy from us, are usually in the more mature bracket. This age group are probably being hit that hardest at the moment, so we may have to wear a few losses for a while.
We had a stall holder near us who was selling huge stuffed butterflies (not Australian ) and some taxidermied rats n birds. She wasn't selling a lot, but we did see her sell a stuffed pigeon. That creeped me out, but the worst one was the stuffed crow. It sat staring at us from it's perch for the whole weekend and she sold it to one of the traders. In English folklore, crows in the house are meant to be a fore warning of death in the household. While I don't really follow those old superstitions, I do feel that the crow gave us a low feeling for the weekend.
Today was our monthly progress meeting and we all had a few gripes about the usual school holiday hooligans. Seems that our area is plagued with kids doing bad kid things, destroying property, stealing from cars and generally being pests. Some letters will be writ asking about some kinds of organised sports or general activities to keep the big darlings occupied. Parents don't appear to have much control of kids these days and they certainly don't know or care what the brats are doing.
It's freezing here tonight. Shirley, hope you get a bit more thawed out before you roll those balls down the greens . Well done over the frozen grasses this weekend.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Rest day for the BOB,s and after last nights efforts they deserve it. Deborah the Jayco boys are doing fine I reckon they will win a few stages yet. Sunny windy today and the wind was rather cold. Off to the city again tomorrow arvo for us both to see my back man.
Started putting back some furniture into the bedrooms but with G's shoulder and leg woes and a useless me it is taking time but we will get there. Oh the joys of old and no family to assist. I'm off to bed now hope everyone is being good like doing their physio and such, Bernie how is your son's treatment going? David you also are being investigated and everyone else that are not feeling too good.Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, good luck with the back man tomorrow. Be thinking of you both. xxxx
Woke today to find that it's freezing and raining. That put a stop to us heading off to ww for our big shop. School holidays and the local kids flock to the ww complex when it rains. Not fun at all.
We head off to Gosford tomorrow for annual endocrinologist checks so will probably do the grocery shop at a smaller quieter ww on the way home.
I rang the caravan mob today and they still do not have the parts. I made my feelings known and told them that I could walk into a couple of the big caravan suppliers here and have the parts by Friday at the latest. They gave me the line that they have to use certain suppliers and cannot use parts brought in by customers . I think I may have reached the end of my tether. This is beyond ridiculous.

Tell your insurance what is being said and that you want another repairer, you have lost faith in this repairer having the competence to do the repair.dream4red wrote: ↑Wed Jul 16, 2025 1:12 am Dot, good luck with the back man tomorrow. Be thinking of you both. xxxx

If they keep to their word, they will pick up your van and take it to someone who will be forewarned to do the job yesterday and make it the best job they have ever put through their shop ...... and at the same time, they will blacklist the other repairer .....
