Dot your mate has two choices or may be combined as one.
Stay here till said pussy has passed but head back for a good holiday and check every thing out.
Cost of setting up a business and taxes to pay.
Cost of transport, housing, food and general living. Power and water, internet home and business.
Once he has the facts make the decision but he has to talk to people in similar work and about general living.
Sleep well, cheers Robert

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Hi Dot, sorry if I misinformed you. We still don't have our van back. The insurance co is paying us for the things that we have already paid to the repairer, so that they can get a wriggle on. The repairer refused to order in parts until the insurance co had given them the money to do that, so I paid up front to give them a headstart on getting the things ordered. Sadly the repairers don't give a flying fig and we are looking at continuing to wait forever. Hope the news from Kiwiland was happy. xxxx
RobertnotBob, that was some great advice about setting up a new life in the "mother country" . Like Dot says, once they land in NZ, they may want to run back across that ditch faster than the plane will carry them.
We have been "working" alongside our handyman to finally get the wrecked hills hoist out of the ground and the start of finally getting a clothes line is looking good. As they have been working right outside my shed, I have stayed upstairs and kept the supply of hot drinks and bickies going. He is returning tomorrow to help his nibs install a new door to his part of the end of the garage, so another inside day for me.
The weather has been lovely if behind glass in the sunshine, but as soon as the sun starts to hide, it's freezing. I cannot remember ever feeling this cold since we moved here and I thought last winter was cold.

Oh hell Deborah I really thought you had the van back, They sure are slack, what if the van was your home? When we had a shockie go way up woop woop the man put us in the back of his yard till the new part arrived in 3 days . Some business's are really good but some are shit.Deborah How about the Jayco rider Ben O'Connor from WA won stage 18 in the Alps, he did a great job. I finished cleaning all the pantry shelves and suggested to G that maybe he could put another shelf up the top for stuff that is hardly used, found a cake mix that best by date was 2014
Tanks conveyed me the news that my footy team lost again
always next year. Hope Shirley is not outside in this freezing weather honing her skills. Does anyone know if all the roads are open if going from SA to Mt Isa, Collinsville ? Just might make it this year if G's next appointment gives good news (8th Aug) Off for a nice hot shower then bed to watch the last 60 odd ks. Keep warm everyone and safe on the roads.Goodnight everyone x

Dot, all fingers and toes are crossed for Mr G to have a great quack's report and then you can have some bus freedom. YAY xxxx
Well the clothes line is finally all up and looking good. His lordship and mate were busy for a lot of the day with the door replacement. Nothing takes a short time when this pair get together. I think they may have repaired the leaky water tank that we have just been ignoring. It will be great to have some water flowing back into it soon. Yep, more ice and rain has been predicted for the next week.
Obviously, I have done very little again today, if the predicted rains come, I will continue to be grounded ggrrr.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Ummmmmm it was 12 mths ago 16th of this mth our house burnt to the ground, still fighting NRMA, but we might actually see the end of it by the end of this mth .... but I won't be holding my breath on that actually happening either ..... they dragged my motor vehicle accident claim out for over 20 yrs ....
I know in this case it isn't the insurance dragging their feet, but it will be a minimum of 2 yrs once we get the insurance settlement money, before they finish rebuilding the house ..... so 3 yrs without a house ...... I know some who were victims of the bushfires have been stuck in temporary accommodation a lot longer .... I really feel for them, they lost everything as well, but it has dragged out so long now, the price increases mean they will never be able to rebuild, no matter how well they were insured ..... the flood victims will probably be in an even worse position ..... they won't be able to rebuild where they lived and still get insurance ......

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Early tonight as G was so wriggly throughout the night the spare room bed looked inviting but it wasn't made . The pantry is now all cleaned and paint touched up and new shelf done, all I have to do now is put everything back. Tomorrow we get all the stuff off the tiled areas for the man on Monday to clean them.Deborah one of the Jayco boys has just crashed but he is back on his bike with skin off most of his L) arm. It has been raining all day and so no outside work has been done. I am going to put Brian outside for his business as he doesn't like having to go through the rain. HTFFBO has finally heard from Paul's Dr that his op will be Tuesday if not cancelled again. Keep warm everyone and safe if on the roads. Oh yeah another bit of gos is Macca had a new knee and is home and doing well. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Not a lot happening up here. Have still been cleaning up stuff that could have been useful at some time but as it has been sitting around now for years it is time for it to go. At least it will be gone if the kids have to clean up the place sometime. Only 18mm of rain up here out of the last event so it will not go far. Goodnight from Evie and us.
