Dot, I hope that winter has finally finished with us too. Third night in a row without the heater. just so good to feel warm and not need any extra layers of clothes...soon we'll be whining about the heat tho. xxxx
Today I was a dressmaker. I had lovely new dress that I bought from the usual source ( a charity shop somewhere) that was a designer model and brand new (and only $5). Once I tried it on to shorten it (like every clothes items that I buy) I found that the dress had a nicely fitting top half and then the bottom half was weird and it hung really badly. This became a whole day project. Once I had taken out a lot of the side seams and used them to make pockets, the dress finally looks ok. Why do ladies clothes rarely have pockets? Where do you nicely stash the keys and a tissue?
Hope you are all enjoying some warm patches now,
nighty night xxx

Every thing should have pockets. Even my Tshirts must have pockets. I even put at least one pocket in the shoulder bags I make and if needed zipped as well.

If you scrub it down with a harsh concrete cleaner, it will lift the paint out of the pavers and the concrete around them ..... or buy some more cans of paint and do a Pro Hart job on the whole areasupersparky wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 1:23 am Dot, winter seems to be slowly creeping away. I've been in shorts and a short sleeved work shirt the past few days. I'm not a big fan of being cold. That was one of the main reasons I moved to the GC many moons ago.
I'm lying here wide awake now after a few hours sleep listening to motorbikes going in from out the road.
Why is it that you can hear a bike coming for miles but not a car?
There was a minor catastrophe here when we got home from the big green shed late this arvo. Someone dropped a 4 litre can of paint on the pavers. It made a hell of a mess. I guess I'll hear about that for a while now. We spent a long time on the clean up, hopefully there won't be too much of a stain.
Time will tell. G'night all.

Yeah, but you have to put pockets back and front, inside and outside, on your T Shirts, just so you can get the full mths wear out of them before they go in the wash

That's cruel. I can use the Tshirt inside out and still get to pockets. Been there done that. Remember in Illawarra Margaret and I were walking to the shops and she noticed the shirt was inside out, I told her that was the clean side. Remember one day walking to the shops and taking the shirt off and reversing it while still walking. Did not even get one offer either.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Another non plus day. I actually did a rotisserie d chook and roast vegs for tea and probably tomorrow nights tea as well. I actually enjoyed it although not much taste for me. I helped G put new rollers on the sliding door, boy was that a job but we got it done. Brian's appetite is getting stronger due to the steroids he's taking for his lung infection. Another night without the air con or wood fire going, a bit chilly but a rug over the knees does the trick. No BOB's tonight as a rest day. Time for shower then bed so Goodnight everyone x

The T Shirt wasn't only inside out, it was back to front as well, the label was showing 'cause you'd trimmed your beard

Good to see Brian is getting his hunger back Dot. Maybe some of those roids would give you some hunger too. Rotisseried chook sounds yummo. You both are doing it rough I see.

Yes Shirley, the years are starting to fly past. We seem to be finishing off the Christmas goodie boxes and suddenly it's back to doing this years Christmas shopping.
Brian, ladies clothes can be totally impractical, but lack of pockets is one of my pet hates too.
Today we decided to bite the bullet and do some shopping tasks. First job was to get his lordship's photo taken for his driver's license. Well, the rta was chockers. The chap on the door told us it could be an hour's wait and Mondays were always this crazy busy. . We will go back another day soon. Next was to have a chat to the tyre place people. Our caravan wheels and tyres came with a nice looking hubcap, but they are too short for the bits that hold the axles and wheels together. So we needed to find some taller hubcaps. No deals were made there. They had nothing that we liked enough to buy and put onto the van. We decided that it's just window dressing, so who cares?
Next was on to WW for our monthly big grocery shop. Had that done and dusted in a little over an hour. Home for a quick lunch, put the groceries away and then a progress meeting.
It has certainly been a non stop day.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I'm off the Balranald for my photo on Wed Deborah, I doubt it's change much since the last one, maybe I should get the Groucho Marks glasses and moustache for the photo, so I at least look different
The glasses test will be interesting, the eye specialist says I have 20/20 vision again in both eyes, yet to see if the RMS think the same when I do the eyesight test without glasses ..... I'm betting that "It says S in the eyesight section, so you have to wear glasses"
Doesn't worry me really, but I do need to get a pair of deep yellow tinted for night driving, I find I can see the roadside better with them in the dark, yet the headlights don't blind me as bad ..... Some of those Lunnies in the 4 X 4's with the light bars on the roof and flame throwers on the bull bar, seem to think dipping their lights is optional ..... a move over towards their lane in the Winnie (like I'm blinded and can't see) seems to smarten them up a bit, but it still hurts the eyes
