Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I am exhausted so to bed I go but a shower first. Man from the earthworks is coming in the morning for a quote to put more road base down and do the leveling of the yard so the rain doesn't hang around . (When it may rain again) Brian was washing his eyes and made the growth thing bleed so I gave it a wash and it stopped bleeding so I made appointment for Wed week to see the vet about getting it either surgically removed or diathermy? Had a bit of a surprise today. I was trying to find a hair I felt on my chin and when I saw the thing I immediately thought of my mum that was always trying to find her chin hair
When I did find it and got the tweezers onto it and saw how long it was. What was that poem about "the hair on the chinny chin chin"
Now that I found that monster hair I then found a couple of long white hairs in my L) eyebrow
Not game to go looking anywhere else. Anyway, goodnight everyone x
Goodnight SSAS x
PS Thank you T1 I will

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, you are your own worst enemy. Gardening is good in small doses and stop killing yourself. Cancer is never good and always hard to hear of friends suffering. I know it's a word and not considered a sentence anymore, but at our age it can be just that one final blow to our systems. Take care young lady xxxx
As predicted the calendar arrived today and now it is a work of art. We would never remember all the birthdays, doc appointments, glassy events and jayco weekends. Without that calendar, we would have too many clashes. I have to be careful of when I book things to not cause any clashes. I have blocked out a couple of weeks between one event at Armidale and allowing us time to get to Nambour Qld for Easter. Yep another glassy event. I have also blocked out ten days after Easter to give us a slow return to the mundane world of home. Now those weeks are set in cement, watch some bloody quack try to eat into our escape time.
Our crazy weather is now driving the ants inside...that is not a good sign. I have found three distinctly different varieties of ant wandering around (in groups) inside the house and think it's time to find a reliable pest man. We did have one of those a long time ago, but he sold his business to Flick and then he disappeared. I gave the Flick man one chance and that was a disaster. Never again, they blew their chance with us. Rude, ignorant and lazy. So now the search is on for a local person who will do us a truthfully honest job. I would go to the the hammer shop and buy their nastiest spray and do it ourselves, but I am not sure that we can get to under the house far enough, to do any good and I think we need to find where they are coming from and treat it properly. Any clues Shirley?

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Another disappointing day, once again the person supposed to turn up to quote for the back yard gravel job we organized well before Xmas. Then when they were back at work the man said he would be here today around noon. 2pm comes and NO man so G rings left a message , the guy rings back and said, a worker didn;t turn up so he had to do the job Said he would ring ? next week for another appointment? Personally I would of told him to "bugger off" but G said ok. Businesses don't give a turkeys neck about us little people so IF and WHEN he does turn up and does the job he will be asked for a reasonable discount for the inconvenience he caused us. Tomorrow the house cleaner comes I think I will just sit down with her so we can suss each other out and show her around. etc. I see that Roger Fed will be at the Australian opening so the tv will be my friend, he is a lovely person.Has anyone got or used an electric lawn mower, ours is still good but the yanking of the starting cord is too hard now. We had one of the bus's windows was very loose so it got sent away to be fixed so the gap has been covered . I picked the window up but G can't put it back in yet due to his back so lots of little things are starting to mount up. Time for a nice shower then bed and Deborah I will do what you say. I will do bouts of 1/2hr doing things, is that ok? Need some rain now please Nigel. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, be careful what you ask for. Remember how much rain we had last summer? Seems like it may be returning this year too... bugga. Good to see you trying to slow down the gardening. What's the rush? It will still be there tomorrow. We have an electric mower. His lordship only uses it on the flat and once he goes up the driveway, he gets the old noisy beast out for that uphill push. It's battery only lasts for half the yard too. He has a couple of batteries so it's not a real problem, just a pita. xxxx
We have been getting smallish amounts of rain water still coming into the house. Our roof man is kind of amazed that we are still having problems. He is a roof plumber and today he turned up with a mate who is a roof tiler. Between them, they had about a quarter of our tiles up and inspected every one of them and they found a couple of suspect things. There is about a 1.2 metre square of tiles that have had the sarking removed from under them. They said there is some electrical wiring there, but we can't remember doing anything electrical in that spot over the last 20 years. They also identified where the rain is actually coming in, but I didn't get the reason for that. Anyway, they are returning on Thursday to hopefully finish the job. I might get rid of the buckets in the doorway soon. That would be good.
That was enough drama for one day.
So glad that you moved out of Dysart Keith, you are in a much safer part of the country now. xxx
Stay safe and night night xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
'tanks" here---
Im reporting that I was unable to assist Judge John Deed in sentencing the latest criminal, and I could not stay in the High Court, mainly because I went to sleep before the case was called.
It is now 11:45 pm Tuesday. No use trying to return to slumber land, so here I am having a quick chat on the forum with those members who are still awake while I listen to the ABC radio for the latest news
.
I did note that our Foreign Affairs (pollution) Member returned to the TV broadcast again, after her dramatic absence since immediately after the Bondi Beach Massacre. The next possibility is that Mr Bourke will make an appearance after his own absence.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.
