Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot I did ask re the $500 excess to the surgeon & was told that if we didn't have a health care card then the amount to be paid was more, most of the older folk that I have spoken to re the charge told me that they have paid similar.

The ankle jab sounds promising Dot, hope it improves, are you walking better?

Shirley was that through the private cover? $500 for the first hosp admission for the year then no other admit $$$$. We have both the Health care and pension cards now but haven't been asked for all . only medicare, private insurance card sometimes pension card. I always ask at the first consult, never been refused.
Ankle jab has been resting all day so will make decision on pain when the anesthetic wears off. :D

Oh, and Nigel reckons more rain for western NSW over the next three days.... which is frustrating him no end as he was going there looking for art works.
Jon, tell Nigel that he is wasting his time looking in NSW, all the good stuff is at Dot's place.
Cheers

Good morning 11c, cloudy, hopefully no rain until late this arvo.

Dot the $500 to the hospital was agreed excess to keep our health fund payments a little lower, then we had to pay the surgeon $500 extra for each eye owing to the fact that she charges $500 above medicares allowance for the procedure. 😢😢

Sending get well wishes to you & Carol, Bernie, do hope that you're not to unwell.

"tanks" here---
Keep safe everyone. Bernie and Carol; there is oral medication for the virus however it must be commenced within a few days of contracting the bug. It might be OK for Carol to lessen the symptoms. A trip to the Doc may be indicated. Do you think the virus was something you found in NSW.

The $500 to the surgeon is the GAP chargeabove Medicare allowance.
Went in today and did the paperwork, got the eyes measured .... need the special lens of course because they are more expensive, then had the total out of pocket expenses paperwork to sign, $2,400. this includes the theatre fees, gas man, surgeon etc, all done at his private clinic in Windsor Gardens and includes the follow up visit the next day in Adelaide.

I won't like to guess how much out of pocket I'd be by now if I'd paid private health insurance and then all the gap fees demanded when you tell them you have private health insurance. Cash money on the day buys all sorts of discounts it seems ;) 8-)
