Delivered Girt to the Auto Electrican today.
She’s in for exploratory surgery to try to solve her stalling problem.
Should it turn out not to be electrical, there’s a heavy vehicle diesel specialist across the road...

Peter,
Unfortunately not. :(
Electricianing person is in Wodonga... panel shop is in Rutherglen.
I wish the Auto Elec were local. The 45km drive to Wodonga was one of trepidation... wondering if she would stall on the freeway.
No power steering or brake boost without the engine running. :o
Getting Girt (a) to the side of the road and (b) stopped is highly entertaining when you're dependent only on muscle-power... in an 8tonne vehicle!
Especially if you have a B-Double breathing down your neck!

Hey! I’ve made a discovery!
Among the loot I bought when retrieving Girt was something I didn’t notice until I assembled my collection.

I have a left-handed boot last! :P

And to pre-empt the smarty-pants among us...
NO. It’s not for repairing left shoes only.

When I line up all the variations on the No 2 pattern lasts with the heel-post vertical, this one has the small sole-form on the right, whereas all the others have it pointing left. It also has the larger sole-form vertical, where the others have it horizontal.
Lefty boot last.jpg
(Come to think on it, maybe all the others are lefties and only this one is a righty... :? )

Just goes to show, there’s no such thing as a standard boot last.

While Girt is in motorhome hospital, we have other things to keep us occupied.
Coupla months ago, SWMBO ordered another 20 roses. They were delivered last week. That brings the total to 130.
She and the Gardener's Labourer (me) have now planted them all in the new garden bed, a photo of which I posted last October/November when it was sans plants. (That's with an 'l'... and distinct from 'sans culottes' :!: :P )

Now we just have to wait six months for them to flower...
