That was nice Ray but you forgot to say goodnight engrossed in the "when I was a lad" times.. So why don't you buy a pub? with this lot on here you would make a good living out of it esp with Lesley, Terry, and Margaret to name but a few in the Duriff zone.... So with that I shall say goodnight everyone x

Several reasons, Dottie:
1. We spent all our available $$$ from sale in Melb to buy the Rutherglen house - a break-even deal.
2. Running a pub is a 7-days-a-week job, and I'm not physically capable of that any more. My Nanna-Nap is sacred. And necessary.
3. I can burn water when making tea, so guess who would be 'volunteered' as chief cook? SWMBO... and she retired so she could do what she likes when she likes. Not to start another full-time job.
4. I'd have to check the quality of every wine & beer on sale... a dangerous thing!
5. I'd have to buy the vacant block next-door as well, to cater for the parking needs of all you soaks. (It'd make a great MSO though... )

We enjoyed our few days camped at Policeman's Paddocks near Rutherglen last year. Loved Rutherglen. What a pretty town. Warrabilla Wines, Taste Restaurant, Parker Pies....Ray, you have chosen a great place to live!
