I have, just now, at 8:20am checked the grid voltage and found it to be 243V and at the same time the AC output from the inverter also 243V.

 Probably runs of a few different phases to spread the load and one phase has been lost as David suspected. The lights stay on, the power points work, but things that require big power or are 3 phase stop working. Other houses on the same grid section loose their lights or their power points, one of those things when the supply is 3 phase. It could be worse, we are on the end of a SWER line and have had the voltage drop so low only a single filament bulb would sort of glow brown. Had to race around and turn everything off so the motors didn't burn out. Not a lot of fun when all the water needs to be pumped, the septic is a pump out to a settlement pit higher up on the hill and the whole house is electric so no morning coffee or breakfast  seemed to be more a winter problem than a summer problem and next doors solar seems to boost the mains voltage during the day, so we are probably paying top $$ for what they are paying her a pittance

Terry, you might have to move into the bus. At least it is stand alone. When I lived on the end of a SWER line it was bloody annoying. We would lose power on a semi regular basis. We have gone out to mh a few times when lost power at home. But only can run fans at the mo'.
Cheers

Same here. If our blackouts last more than 30 minutes we fire up Girt’s fridge on gas and retreat to her.
In hot weather we’d crank up the gennie & run her a/c.
As the house is all electric, we can’t even brew a cuppa in a blackout! Have to resort to a cold beer before they start warming up! 😳
See? I martyr myself in the interests of food safety!! 😜

Grid voltage is back to 245.6 and inverter AC output 246.3 now that the current temp is 20* and no aircons running.

Well, the grid voltage has gone from 198.5 on Sunday to 253 today.

Better still, in the process of taking the house off grid. It will have the grid as a backstop for 12 mths so we see just how much we use from the grid and when so we can determine if increasing the battery or solar capacity is a better $$ option than paying the grid connection fee for a service we barely use.

We did plug the house into the Mazda when we first moved in, a mix up of dates regarding connection and disconnection and it was Bathurst weekend

More problems. We have had a few occasions when our oven power has turned off and it has started beeping. It happened last night at 9:30 and i thought it may be a grid voltage problem so made my way to the smart meter and found the voltage to be 213V so disconnected power to oven. This morning while checking the data provided by our inverter I found a grid voltage of 210V on 25/2. I will point out that we have also had voltages exceeding 250V.

Ausgrid have been this afternoon but are going to return sometime tomorrow with their heavy equipment.
