Left home yesterday and camped overnight at the Swinging Bridge campsite at Cooyar. 11 degrees in the MH this morning so the diesel heater is getting its first workout in a year.

Moving on today to the Sandy Creek pub at Allan (my maiden name too!) just west of Warwick which is the starting point for the tag along.

We cancelled our Mundi Mundi Bash bookings and plan to spend that money in the pubs and small towns we visit over the next 3 weeks.

Hopefully it will be a fun time.

Hope you enjoy your travels, never know, you might still be travelling when we head up that way via Birdsville in early Oct .... headed toward Emerald for a good mates wedding ....

Nope! I was just plain old Lesley Allan back in the day.

So, the camping area is between the pub and a go-cart track and today is practise for the weekend It sounds like we have landed in the midst of a giant beehive.

Here are a couple of pics of the racers. Pity there is no soundtrack!

So, are you and Erich going to wander over and ask to get a drive in one of those carts? I reckon it was the most fun you could have and still be legal the few time I tried it.

No way! I did my penance as gf and wife of a speedway driver back in the 70s. Never going there again! Let us know your itinerary for the Emerald trip. We might be able to connect somewhere.
Cheers

"tanks" here---Possibly meet up at the Dysart Bunker which is nit too far from Emerald.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Well, we had a great first day of the tag along. Our stay at the Sandy Creek Pub coincided with a fund raiser for Cystic Fibrosis Qld and what a lot of fun it was. From the bullock team pull to the charity auction and raffle of a $4000 holiday on Stradbroke Island, live entertainment all afternoon and evening and a pig on a spit dinner.

Unfortunately I only took video which I can’t upload and the screen shots I attempted from the videos are poor quality. You’ll just have to believe the whole day was a hoot and all the time the go-carts were buzzing around next door.

Off to Rudds Pub at Nobby for lunch and then on to Maidenwell for 3 nights. Stay tuned.
Cheers

Pencilled in Tanks, just gotta check that the "not too far" isn't like the distance from the job we were doing on Kappy's bus to the house you had in WA .... from memory that was around 300kms and not sure if we have a job to do in the Brisbane outer suburbs during the mth we have set aside to do the trip before the next job is waiting at the workshop gate .......
