Did I read somewhere that the vast box should be turned on every couple of weeks to maintain connection? I read so much about vast in the last month or so that I can't remember where I read it (or if I am hallucinating)

Edit: This may be what I was thinking about http://www.mysattv.com.au/Troubleshooting.aspx

I had occasion to use the satellite TV at Port Elliot. The picture was average OK, the sound was average with background noise. On the advice of Russell I bought an HDMI cable, fitted it, and what do you know? Perfect picture, perfect sound. Thanks Russell.

Init Funny.

Being well aware of the Satellite Zones (LNB skew) on the Alden Systems and knowing I will have to adjust it on the control box on my trip to Cairns in June. I got caught in Nuriootpa (SA) which is in zone 2.

The Satt Dish was in a suspect area (pointing to the tips of some very tall pine trees, but it kicked in on the first try. The next morning we though we would watch the news (in bed) and it wouldn't lock in, ok I reasoned lots of moisture around in a tricky area so I tries later that day and it worked.

That night it didn't work, the dish went around in circles till I gave up.

Next afternoon I tried again same thing, then I noticed it was sitting on zone 1, "what the", set it to zone 2 and it worked, I don't remember changing it to zone 1. Does it change itself when can't lock onto a signal??

The moral of the story is to check the zone to see if it's set right for your current location and I have no idea what your supposed to do when you are in a borderline area??

Have fun y'all.

The set up you left me with still works here in Melbourne although, according to the book, I think I should be zone 3 here. Doesn't matter, it works.

I have just finished routing the HDMI from the VAST to the TV via the rear of the shelving. Took a while to work out the route but in the end was easy using some curtain wire to feed then pull it through.

You should be in Zone 1, but if it works hey!!!

Zone 3 starts at Geraldton according to the book.

I'd better look at the book again.

The springs are great - a different vehicle altogether.

Mine goes in for all the warranty issues on the 29th.
