Bernie there is a battery available just for you!
I saw one that simply plugs into a power point. I'll see if I can dig it up again.
You could pick it up in your little truck!

Robert,
The heat pump is an Ecogenica EG-215FR290 215 litre tank.
There was a gov subsidy but that was about 2 years ago.

Re: BIG battery comments
Before I mention any pricing I need the company to split up a few items rather than just include them all in one group/price.
To just give lump sum for 10 panels, a hybrid inverter plus the 25kWh battery in one price is a bit silly for comparing other quotes. I'm guessing that's why they do it?

Power to your house is still way below the cost of a packet of smokes.
We use $4.30 per day of electricity... On average..
It's probably the cheapest thing you have.
Bernie.

Re: BIG battery comments
I totally agree Bernie but don't you really want to 'rip it up their noses!' ?
Looking at month 20/6 to 20/7.
11 days export 219.61kWh at .12377 equals $27.18 credit.
then...
19 days export 634.09kWh at .0866 equals $54.91 credit.
in the mean time on the same dates the sell rate back (night time) it goes from .30972 to .29975. (not a big change)
But service fee goes from $1.24243 a day to $1.53493.
To make it a bit worse, it's a Gov dept that sets the prices & fees. Who is in bed with who?
Do those figures correspond with yours?

Re: BIG battery comments
OK, a few prices until I get the split up of the lump sum price.
The following is an add-on to the existing setup. (13.4kW solar to a 10.3 inverter hooked to grid feed in.)
Description.
4.4kW solar system with 25kWh battery storage.
10 X 440w Phono Helios panels.
10kWh Sungrow RS Hybrid Inverter.
25kWh Sungrow SBH Battery.
$39,010.00
Solar sub-board works $375.00
Remove inverter $275.00
Additional hourly rate per visit 2 X $125 = $250
Sungrow inverter buyback = $1,500.00
Repeat customer discount = $2,226.00
2025 STC Rebate = $1,064.00
Sub total = $35,120.00 (included GST $3192.73)
30 STC's X $38.00 $1140.00
210 Battery STC's X $38.00 $7,980.00
Total $26,000
All installation, application & approval etc etc.

Re: BIG battery comments
OK, 10 panels @ $629 = 6,290
Inverter = 6440
Battery = 26,280
I'm taking Bernie's advice & taking up smoking again! hehe

Re: BIG battery comments
Would 70,000 AAA rechargeables do the job?

Do you have 70,000 AAA rechargeables handy Ray? You know they would be Chinese knockoffs, NeverReady

Re: BIG battery comments
"tanks" here--- Bruce,
Thanks for the info on the costs etc.
At my age (87), I have, after laborious calculations over the past ten seconds, I realized that I could never recover the purchase and installation charges for a battery-based system.
I shall have to be satisfied with the solar system I now have on the roof.
I'm disappointed with the Synergy feed-in/buy-back rip-off of 0.30c per kWh at peak time, and possibly 0.10c per kWh at off-peak times. They also want to charge $120.00 to reprogram the meter to allow me to buy back the power that is now generated by my existing solar system.
Thanks again Bruce
Keith.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.
