Thanks Owen.... I stumbled across your web site and it became a most enjoyable journey as I followed all the steps. After reading all of the web site I was desperate to get into the vehicle and drive around Australia. I felt that it was now mine.....hahahah
As a result of reading all the info on the site I came up with a few conclusions..
1... at 65 I dont have enough time or experience to produce such a magnificent piece of equipment.
2... I am going to explore fibreglassing and see what I can create.
Are you going on the road soon and whats the plan?

Thanks for the welcome messages guys.
Given my wife's medical issues, I don't place too many time frames on getting things done nowadays. Last year was pretty much a write off, build wise, but I am hoping that more will get done soon.
It's stinking hot at the moment, so the motivation to get out into the workshop to do some welding is quite low. The plan, as it is now, is to complete everything below the floor level before the middle of the year. When at that stage I will be converting the workshop from a metal shop to a composites shop. That's when the real fun will begin.
The intent is to build a custom moulded fibreglass body, which is bound to be a whole lot of work. I am hoping that the effort will be worth it.

Perhaps you'd like to fill in some info in the "introduction" section but in the meantime be very careful with the fibreglass.
Especially more so with Epoxy glass.
Once you have it in your system it only takes a small whiff years down the track to effect you again.
It's a bit like those big tropical fish intoxication!!
Plenty of masks, plenty of ventilation and plenty of friends doing it for you whilst you prop up the local bar!!!
