Sir Francis Chichester owned 5 yachts called Gypsy Moth. He called into Australia in number IV (now on display in the UK) on the first solo navigation of the globe. The name, Gipsy Moth, originated from the de Havilland Gipsy Moth aircraft in which he completed pioneering work in aerial navigation techniques.
