I parked under a light pole with a pelican perched on it, once. Never again. Could not believe what was expelled on that first wing beat.BruceS wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 4:44 pm haha.... I like it!
We have a few "shallows" here too! (on our committee!)
I'm guessing you meant swallows?
We in the Marina have them nesting under our boats on the pontoons etc.
Once they hatch out they hang around for months till it's time to head off to the Northern Hemisphere.
Hot days, windy days or mostly every day they camp on our side fences & crap all over the decks!
Glad they aren't pelicans tho!
Is there any diff between "Fairy Martins" & "Swallows"?
Good morning daily

Good morning.
Wind still here...pain in the butt.
blows all the leaves from across the road to our place...I mowed the front lawn...again... becoming monotonous..
My theory of getting wiring through the roof may work with out me removing the ceiling
Will have a better try today..
Now furry critters on yesterdays walk...but...one of the neighbors cows were out, so called into his place to let him know.
Carol hasn't told me what I'm doing today ...yet...
Pelican poo was it a fishy smell Dave
Morning Keith.
Keep safe out there.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. It looks like we might get a few more showers again today. And more wind too. It's just more of what we've had all week.
Bernie, pelican poo is like a thick white and grey sticky paste. It smells like rotting seaweed from memory. And it's not easy to get off, sticks to everything.
I dunno what I'm doing today either, but I do know we aren't going to the footy.
Have a top day everybody, safe travels.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning All. It was a lovely cool, dry day yesterday until I opened the gate at 3:15 to walk to the Bowlo and it began raining. Luckily, my car was parked in the street so I drove the 400 metres. I had planned to do some mowing on my return at about 5pm but managed it with slightly wet grass at 7pm. I am now waiting for the dew to dry off on the final bit.
[EDIT] 9am Now it's raining again

Re: Good morning daily
Morning all, if I get the motorhome inverter back in this morning, I plan to spend the rest of the day in Adelaide at an EV festival where there is a mob promoting EV racing and have driving instructors offering tutoring in handling a high powered EV in an attempt to keep them away from the white guide posts .... mixed feelings about that, the white guide post v inexperienced drive = cheap donor EV for modifying a classic vehicle, but learning how to handle a kombi with 150kW and 250nm of torque at the first turn of the wheels might be a valuable skill
The inverter problem turned out to be heat related .... some idiot wired it up while suffering from heat affected mental function and managed to wire the in and out back to front. The same idiot did such a great job or tucking the 24v cable up high and out of the way, inverter removal was not possible without cutting the cables
Wiring problem rectified, cables with crimp lugs fitted and only need a negative terminal mount from the local spares shop, or Adelaide if they don't carry them, and I can reinstall it to see what else I did wrong ....

Re: Good morning daily
Just beat the rain home after my wasted trip to Adelaide. It is bucketing down, the humidity is about 200% and the power is out the rest of the day till 10:30 pm according to the SA Power networks SMS they sent us
Naturally, I didn't get a chance to get the inverter back in, so can't steal power from there either ... bugga

Good morning.
I had sorta success with the wiring through the ceiling. But not happy...I may need a re-think. Will see what happens today.
Not much else going on here at the mo, Carol well enough to weed her gardens
The heat is back into the mid 30s yesterday...so the aircon was on
Tomato's finally putting fruit on same with the Chilies, lettuce almost gone to seed.
And it's finally Bacon and eggs day again...the last of the smoked beef bacon.
Keep safe everyone.
Bernie.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. We had another copy and paste day of the past week. Warm with lots of wind and scattered showers.
We did a test pack of our suitcases for our upcoming trip to Japan. Hopefully have selected the right type of clothes to suit the weather.
Went round to the sons place in the arvo and helped him shift an outdoor spa. Those things hold a lot of water even when they are supposedly empty.
Enjoy your b&e Bernie, we are having scrambled eggs on toast today, I think.
Safe travels everybody.

Re: Good morning daily
Our self sown tomatoes and chillies are on their third cycle of fruit, I've been threatening to put them through the blender to at least clear the old fruit and I'll need to actually do it very soon, some of the tomatoes are past eatable stage still on the vine and the chillies have shrivelled and dries so much they could probably be ground up and put in a shaker jar ....BernieQ2 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 6:26 am Good morning.
