There are lightning and thunder storms combined with belting rain in some of them circling the area, been going since around 8pm. Not a hope of sleeping through it, the lightning is brighter than daylight and thunder like it's right over the roof. The dog has abandoned hiding out in her kennel and headed for the safety of the bedroom

Just good to get some decent rain. Been dry as a chip here for weeks which is unusual for the north coast. Drizzle today just as I planned a big day outside working on the bus. Wouldn't you bloody know it.

The last time we had the 3 or 4 circling storms like that, the whole area flooded, and big flooded like house high walls of water bursting through backyards and washing people and cars down streets. This lot were more of the theatrical type, thunder bolt and lightening, very very frightening type of stuff but we were on the outer edges so those in the thick of it might have copped a lot more.
