Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I think that's where it started Dot. I remember it being Harvest Festival at the church, when I was a kid. But then the Seppos pinched it, and stuffed it up. Like a few other good things.
Whatever happened to Guy Fawkes night. That was early Nov, wasn't it?
Oh, that's right, they banned crackers and sky-rockets and stuff didn't they.

What about letter boxes? particularly those in brick fences.

It was the wooden ones on posts that had more trouble in the area that I grew up George. A bit like the frogs that Jon mentioned. Rectum.

Ahhh yes, the boys that lived at the brick fence letterbox house always taunted that their letter box was safe ..... so it became a neighbourhood challenge to destroy it and that gave reprieve for all the other letterbox owners ...... One of the more inventive older boys finally mastered it, tuppenny bunger carefully unrolled, the powered replaced with the contents of a lot of .22 shells and something to set it off .... they wouldn't tell us that part, rerolled with glue around every layer, then wrapped in a roll of 100 mph tape ..... took the whole corner of the fence out, damaged cars all around the place with bits of flying brick and the front lawn the fence held back blocked the driveway ...... resulted in a court appearance and a very stern talking to from the local fathers group to the boys collective that if any more letterboxes were blown up, each father had permission the give the offender a hiding .... and some of them were real nasty buggers ... so all letterboxes were safe from then on
The local playground/park was not so lucky ;)
