Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dunno why you would even think about using flexi panels on a Winny roof.
I still haven't found any of those aluminium bits in the roof yet, but I'm still looking. Not today though. It's too windy.

Dave.

It's a brilliant idea. Just glue them to the rubber roof. They'll just flap around on the rubber.

Sort of like a second skin on the roof.

My B.I.L advised us when we had the winnie to have a steel / aluminium framework over the roof if we wanted to put solar panels up.

Good morning.
I spent half of yesterday working on a saw bench... don't seem to get away from benches 😁.
It was sinking into the ground... the legs are inch square and should be on concrete...so I pulled it apart removing the top board well...so now. It Has new top and bottom welded to two inche square across the bottom of the leg's..it won't sink anymore.
Also stained the top edging for the kitchen bench, that may get attached today... but... before all that goes ahead...I have doctor appointment for blood test...
Son had a MRI yesterday and will know the results later this week...
Good result Shirley... congratulations..
It's a fresh morning...
Keep safe.
Bernie.

The heat through the semi flexible panels will delaminate fibreglass, so they would destroy the rubber roof. Even those corner blocks that glue to the roof and screw to the rigid panels, result in the rubber roof skin burnt and cracked open, had a few we repaired when T1 Lithium was still in business.
Glueing the square 3mm aluminium feet with the long 4mm screw taped through from the base and the hole countersink on the underside to recess the screw head, so the thread can't unscrew out of the aluminium mount and the plate can mount flat, does work. A sheet of 6mm Lexan Thermoclear on top of the feet, then the 6 eyelets in the panel, over the screws, and either big flat washers or threaded small triangular bits of the 3mm plate, wound down onto the eyelets, with just enough clearance for the to move, then a lock nut on top. Both the thermoclear and panel can flap enough to allow cooling air to flow under them and that saves the rubber roof and the panel, but every panel must have a bypass diode for the series string, and a blocking diode at the end of the positive, if more than one series string feeds into the one controller ....
That was the only way we could get more than 12 mths out of the semi flexible panels, 5 yrs was about as long as they lasted, although, I believe some of them have lasted longer than that, but they were not on the road full time and parked undercover between trips ....

Each yr they get better, but I still pay the big $$ to get the best, but I'm profoundly deaf with less than 30% total hearing left now. I'm also a head sweater, so the battery powered hearing aids would fail after 3 yrs at best, and I often had to open the battery door, wipe the sweat beads off the battery and leave them in front of the air conditioner to dry out.

These latest ones are induction charged, so they are sealed against moisture entering ..... the say you can swim and shower with them in ...... can't see why anyone would want to do that though, I certainly don't

Late good morning from me. Today seems to be a copy and paste of yesty, weatherwise. Sunny but cool if you're out in the wind. Lovely behind glass though.
Went for a bit of a drive after the footy yesty. Hadn't been down that way for many years. None of the beaches or cpks are dog friendly so we gave em all a miss year's back. For a dog friendly free camp though. So much has changed and still it all remains the same.
Safe travels all those out and about.
Cheers

Had my appointment and must say I have been happy with my original aids purchased over 3 years ago. Was not a pensioner so with private heath rebate still cost me near $2k.

With the pension I get the government ones for free which my bloke told me are several levels above my current ones. They are also digital and wireless so he can connect my phone for incoming and out calls.

Seems a good deal, they all so have a add on where for $53.45 you get all your batteries for a year and insurance for your aids if you loose them or they are damaged.

Overall happy with this mornings appointment. Cheers Robert

T1thank you for your reply will see how these go when I pick them up next Monday. Never know by the time three years are up the government new ones may not need batteries either cheers.

Robert, I have high end ones similar to Terry's. My MiL has the govt ones, she is happy with them, but nobody else is. She also has so of the slightly higher end ones, which she refuses to use. Much to everyone's disappointment.
I can recommend the suggestion to insure them. I lost one of mine whilst helping a mate do some gardening. Fortunately for me, I found it the next day. They weren't insured at that point. I think mine are on our household home and contents policy. But they did ask for the serial numbers of them.
Cheers
