Where Are You Now??

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

No, I came straight here, stayed 3 nights at Fig Tree Crossing just out of Geraldton.
Had my gas bottle filled at BCF Geraldton $22.95.

Home Hill showgrounds at $15 pn with power, water, toilets & showers.

Spent last night in the free RV Stopover behind the Kyto Wetlands in Ingham. RV must have onboard toilet and grey water must be collected (bucket/container ok) then dumped at onsite dump point. Great spot within walking distance of town.

That's what the sign says, but the whizbangs park in the visitor parking lot in front of the info centre until sometime after 22:00, then sneak in to the campsite.
In the morning, breakfast is prepared on the lawn (a no no) then out comes the toothpaste which is spat at their feet. Other bodily functions are summarily dealt with behind a tree less than 30m away at the waters edge. If you doubt I've got photographic proof of ALL the above.*

The TYTO free camp (named after an owl that inhabits the area) is a trial site and these back packers will be the death of it, not to mention caravaners and motorhomers who should know better, but just do not care and hang their laundry (a no no) and dump their grey water. But some mothers do have them.

* yes, I did type up a data sheet on all the above complete with photographs and submit such to the concerned info centre staff, which I was assured was going to council.

All appeared to be well behaved last night, with no latecomers that I saw.

Was going to overnight at Moore River Bridge Camps 7 #280, it has been turned into a day use only spot with no camping and one side has a sign 1P between 9am and 6pm. There is a BBQ, toilets and tables.

Was evidence that there had been people camping by the tell tale grey water hole in the dirt.

Moved on to Wilbinga Grove #278 10km further south just a large parking area next to the road but if you follow the track there are places to park further away from the road.

Had to get the shovel out and cover up you know what.

Watched two teenagers walk in drinking from cans and when finished drop them.

We overnighted at Moore river a few weeks ago. Parked in front of the parking restriction sign so no one else was bothered. There was a number of other overnighters.

The sign is to leave room for the short stay power nappers and picnickers. Moore River (WA) is an overnighter, just don't go near the light coloured sand in the river - it's quicksand.
